What exactly are you talking about. Same people win most of the time cause they are good. Even in my tourney with bronze league cap without legendaries, I regularly see similar people in top 10. Also not to mention that their official tournaments are too expensive if you are 2+ leagues higher in ranked ladder than the level cap of those tournaments. I mean, the game currently has a large portion of new players, and like most games, those that started a couple of years ago, will naturally be a lot better at the game.
And one last thing, I rent cards here and there to play on alt accounts. And for like 20 cents, I'm able to compete in gold easily. Don't see how that can be called a pyramid scheme but okay.
I sense that you had some really unpleasant conversations on this topic already tho.
On the tournaments that give well over 1 million dollars a year you play in those? I am speaking about the 90% of rewards not your little bronze tournaments yet asking for a bit more rewards for them since as you said it is much more skill based and true tournamnts. I disagree that they are better (yes some) or they would be top 10 in these tournaments as well and many play in them. & yes I try too hard to help this game out to be treated the way I was by the staff so I was sour, editing pyramid out as that is a big harsh and maybe a bit of an exaggeration yet 90% of tourney rewards do go to 0.01% of the players all year long
To be fair, I tried only once, because I don't have enough experience in those leagues I got beaten pretty hard. Rent was around 10 dollars for two days, but the potential payout was huge. Sounds fair to me.
But let's say this isn't even possible (rent grinding). Why does it bother you that those people that made this game possible to exist are now reaping the benefits of their investment?
Obviously invalid statement. Cause the competition "up there" is mostly filled with veteran players, It's harder to beat them and place well. To compare that to bronze tournaments with new players that haven't experienced enough cards to plan for certain team compositions is kinda absurd.
It sounds like you just don't like this type of business/game model in general. In which case, you will never like Splinterlands.
update time, I own and have several thousands in SL assets, have been sent proof of the rewards going to less than the top 1% with their names accounts owned and card counts yet also enjoy this type of business / game in general as I invested in it yet as an investor I am concerned that it is not made for mass adoption, several months ago we had over 400k players a day now 125k. found out the bots were not 30% of the player base yet a majority and many are still here even with cut rewards.

I never understood what people (in crypto specifically) mean by mass adoption.
If we assume that we have around 100k active players then Splinterlands has more active players than some of the top 10 games on the Steam platform. The game is already pretty big, even if only 30k actual players are playing the game.
Stop believing in a pipe dream and don't be greedy. It will make your life a whole lot easier, I promise.
