These days have been difficult for my emotions. Learning that my 85-year-old father has Covid immediately paralyzed me.
Estos días han sido difíciles para mis emociones. Enterrarme que mi padre, con 85 años de edad tiene Covid de inmediato me paralizó.
It's true what many people say, sometimes we don't know how we will react to a certain situation. Since we started with this health problem, I became aware of the importance of taking care of myself and my family. The first results after the announcement of the pandemic I felt not fear but panic, I was isolated with my family group complying with the biosecurity measures as everyone in the rest of the world.
Es cierto eso que mucha gente afirma, a veces no sabemos cómo reaccionaremos ante una determinada situación. Desde que iniciamos con este problema de salud, concienticé sobre la importancia de cuidarme y cuidar a mi familia. Los primeros resultados luego del anuncio de la pandemia sentí no miedo sino pánico, quedé aislada junto a mi grupo familiar cumpliendo con las medidas de bioseguridad como todos en el resto del mundo.
The passage of time has kept us all thinking positive thoughts and therefore hopeful of returning to normalcy. However, when the problem is so close at hand, we revert to panic attacks.
El paso del tiempo nos ha mantenido a todos con pensamientos positivos y por ende, con esperanza de volver a la normalidad. Sin embargo, cuando el problema lo tenemos tan cerca, volvemos a los ataques de pánico.
My father is in a nursing home, for the past two years we have had no close contact with him for the same reason of taking care of not only him but the rest of the grandparents. Visits in all this time are still restricted, from a distance my sister and I talk to him. It gave me a lot of pain to learn about his health condition and that of the rest of the grandparents. The Omicron variant is highly contagious, even the security measures did not block the virus.
Mi padre está en una casa de reposo, desde hace dos años no tenemos contacto cercano con él por el mismo motivo de cuidarlo no solo a él sino al resto de los abuelos. Las visitas en todo este tiempo siguen siendo restringidas, a distancia mi hermana y yo conversamos con él. Me dió mucho dolor enterarme de su estado de salud y el del resto de los abuelos. La variante ómicron es altamente contagiosa, ni las medidas de seguridad bloqueron el virus.
Faced with the terrible news, I could only cry and pray. Talking with my sister, encouraging each other, we keep the thought that everything will be all right. We have hope and faith in God that my father and the grandparents of the home will soon be relieved.
Ante la terrible noticia no pude más que llorar y rezar. Hablando con mi hermana, animandonos la una y la otra, mantenemos el pensamiento de que todo saldrá bien. Tenemos esperanza y la fe puesta en Dios para que mi padre y los abuelitos de la casa hogar se alivien pronto.

Compañera @belkisa758 lamentamos mucho la situación con su papá 😔 Realmente, y no es para menos, la preocupación aumenta al no poder estar allí cerquita de nuestro familiar. Llevarle un té, una pastillita, agarrar su mano... Todo eso deseamos cuando alguien tan cercano enferma así. Deseamos y rogamos que todo pueda mejorar 🙏🥰
