It's a day to honor the life of someone who is very important to me, and I couldn't let this occasion go by without expressing how much I genuinely value him. Birthdays serve as a reminder of our growth, the abundance of memories we've made, and the love that surrounds us. My best friend, my partner, and the love of my life are celebrating their birthdays today, which is the day I've been looking forward to. I feel so grateful to have him by my side as I sit here thinking back on everything we've done together. Although birthdays are usually a time for celebration, I use them as a chance to think about what a remarkable person he is and how fortunate I am to have him in my life.
Hello everyone! For today’s blog, I want to share with you about one of the special person who celebrated his birthday last January 2, 2025. I hope you all will read and upvote this post!
January 2nd—just the day after the New Year this very special person in my life celebrated his 26th birthday. After work, I surprised him with a cute cupcake, and just like he did for me on my birthday, we shared a birthday "salubong" to mark his special day. Since I was the one who could be with him on this occasion, it made the moment even more meaningful. I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he told me he didn’t want anything just to eat and work. Since I didn’t have a Christmas or birthday gift for him, I decided to give him a budget for a quick, short date on his birthday so we could celebrate a little.
On his special day, we went to the Basilica del Sto. Niño. It seemed like the ideal setting for introspection and a peaceful time together. As we entered the church, a serene ambiance surrounded us, which made the moment feel even more significant. We said a prayer, lit a candle, and took a pause to reflect on how far we’ve come. It wasn’t just a simple visit; we were able to celebrate his birthday in a place filled with beauty and history. It was a simple yet heartfelt experience that added even more meaning to his day.
For his birthday, we lit a candle, which was a modest but heartfelt gesture that seemed appropriate for the situation. The candle represented not just his wonderful day but also all of our hopes and prayers for his future as it flickered in the stillness of the church. We both stopped to consider how far we've come and the benefits in our life during a peaceful period of introspection. As I silently wished for his happiness, health, and the achievement of all his aspirations in the upcoming year, I watched the flame dance softly. It was a small gesture, but it gave his birthday celebration a deeper meaning.
After our visit to the Basilica del Sto. Niño, he decided to have dinner at Jollibee. Knowing that it would make him happy, I allowed him to choose his favorite foods because I wanted him to savor every moment. I liked watching the joy in his eyes as he selected the exact cuisine he wanted, whether it was a comfort food he had been seeking for a while or something he was familiar with. Making his birthday as enjoyable and stress-free as possible while allowing him to enjoy the things that made him happy was more important than the meal.
This is what we ordered: a little tip from us whenever we order at Jollibee, we always get 1 solo spaghetti, 2 pieces of fried chicken with rice and drinks, and 1 order of burger and fries with drinks. This usually costs around 300 PHP. We dined at the Jollibee branch in Plaridel, right beside the Sto. Niño Church. If I were to rate this branch, I’d give it a 6/10. The service had a long waiting time, and from my observation, some customers who came after us were served before us. The chicken, although freshly cooked, was smaller compared to other Jollibee branches. The French fries were a bit hard, and the iced tea was somewhat bland. However, we just enjoy every bite of it.
A birthday isn’t complete without ice cream, and before we headed home, he decided to make a quick stop at 7-Eleven to buy some for dessert. It was the perfect way to end the evening, enjoying a sweet treat together and adding that little extra touch to his special day.
The ideal sweet treat to finish up the day was the cookie and cream on-stick ice cream. Each piece was a lovely blend of flavors and textures, with a creamy vanilla foundation and crunchy chocolate cookie bits. It was made even more delightful by the ease of being on a stick, providing a straightforward but filling treat that gave the celebration the perfect finishing touch.
As we headed home, I could see the joy and fulfillment on his face. His birthday was made meaningful by the small things, not by lavish celebrations or pricey presents. from the peaceful trip to Sto. Every moment of the day, from the small surprise cupcake to the informal supper at Jollibee, demonstrated how much we value one another. I'm thankful that we were able to have such a special and intimate birthday celebration for him, and it helped me realize that often the most joyous occasions are the most straightforward ones. Many more birthdays full of affection, joy, and treasured memories are ahead of us. It filled my heart to see him so joyful and satisfied with the small celebration. Knowing that I contributed to make his day special made me genuinely pleased. It's amazing how even the tiniest actions can provide so much delight. This birthday will always be remembered because of his laugh, his grin, and the way he savored each minute. Moments like these serve as a reminder to me of what happiness really means, which is found in genuine love and shared memories.
