The world can be in so much chaos around us but somehow, we always seek and try to find that peace that can give us reasons to keep going even when we feel like giving up. As humans, if there is one thing that most of us seek, it will be finding peace at every level of our lives but most times it seems like the hardest thing to achieve because the moment we start feeling at peace, there always seems to be something trying to steal that peace away.
For the 5th day of the Aprilinleo, we are asked to share our habits by which we are able to reach our inner peace. Personally for me, I have so many ways I do this depending on what the disturbance is. But what works all the time is getting a good sleep. For me, sleeping is my second favorite therapy and that is because it always works as much as I can find it. Finding sleep for me is finding peace but then, it is only a temporary solution to the problem because I might end up having a dream that might still steal that peace from me. And that is where my first favorite therapy comes in.
I’m one of those people that feel so much better after talking about what is bothering them in anyway. Well, due to the sensitivity of some problems, I don’t just take it to anyone and pour out my heart, I go to my creator (God almighty) because he is the only one that can not just only listen but give me a solution out of my problem. For some challenges, I can share it with those people I’m close with but for some, I just take it to God first and the only thing I will have left to tell those around me is the testimony of God’s grace upon me.
I can just sit at a corner of my room and just start communicating my thoughts, feelings and prayers to God. It gives me this peace that I can’t even describe. Most times, God doesn’t just solve my problems miraculously for me, instead, after telling him all I’m facing or struggling with, he just gives me the strength and the courage to keep going. Other times, he gives me the wisdom to make better choices and before I know, I’m out of that problem or challenge, ready to face the next one.
The life of humans is always going to be about figuring out different problems and finding solutions to those problems. We can’t go a day without finding a solution to a problem or two at least. It can either be a problem for us or for those around us which most times indirectly affect us too. And as long as these problems are there or they keep coming, our inner peace will always be threatened but for me, all I have to do is tell God about it, get a good sleep and also talk to those close to me - someone I know can help me in one way or another find my inner peace.
I do other things too to find my inner peace like listening to a good music, reading a book too helps. I can also choose to go out for a stroll taking beautiful pictures of the beautiful things around me, that helps me a lot. While strolling, I also try to pay attention to the people I walk pass because seeing them, I just feel comforted knowing I’m not alone in anyway. But on days when I don’t feel like going out, I just clean my room as that help me take my mind off things that are disturbing my mind. I also cook too on some days, it helps me feel better because I like focusing on what I’m doing in the kitchen so I don’t create a mess. And finally, I try to eat sweet food or delicious meals.

I’ve also found that sleep helps a lot, and honestly, talking to God when things get too heavy gives me a kind of peace I can’t explain. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in feeling this way.
