Annoyance happens to be an inbuilt feeling for every human, and it's triggered when people do things we don't like around us. We are all capable of getting annoyed, and I believe it's normal; the only abnormal thing is when we react unreasonably because of how we feel. Sadly, people can't keep the feeling under control and act more than they should, which has led to situations we never imagined, like death, life sentences in jail, and others.
I find a lot of things annoying, and it's not like I don't do things people find annoying as well. We are all not perfect and can't be, but we can adjust when people complain about us while we also tolerate others, correcting them and making them see reasons to do things better.
There are a few things I find really annoying around me, and so far, I have been able to correct people and also distance myself from those who don't take corrections.
I went to the market on Tuesday since it's a day market here and saw a scene that got me very annoyed. An aged woman couldn't reach an agreement with a seller, and it led to the seller insulting the woman. I don't know what transpired between them initially, but disrespecting an aged woman is not a good thing.
I don't care; maybe you are young or old, and I strongly believe that nobody should be disrespected unless they actually deserve it. There are instances where people deserve respect, and that's when they don't give respect to others. I detest seeing people being disrespectful, and it annoys me a lot.
The act of disrespecting people is a trend today in many places, and it's usually about the young generation; we usually feel like we are untouchable and can do anything we want. It's a terrible thing because sooner or later, everything we sow shall be reaped, and most importantly, we are not laying a good example for the new generation.
Playing with people's emotions or feelings also annoys me because it's not a good thing. I have seen it happen between opposite genders and just shake my head, asking what and what it would benefit people from doing such things.
I have been a victim of this, and it affected me, so I believe it's not something people should be doing; there is no excuse that justifies playing with other people's emotions or feelings. As a matter of fact, it should be a crime punishable by law because a lot of victims have thought of suicide, which is cruel to humanity.
Leaving promises unfulfilled annoys me too, and I am guilty of this. I have made petty promises I didn't keep and have committed this sin too, but there are unkept promises that have messed up other people's lives.
An example was a coursemate of mine who is an orphan; she's doing everything possible to get educated, working, and depending on family. She couldn't get her school fee and reached out to her father's siblings for assistance.
One of the promised, and she felt better. She didn't bother asking around anymore until the exam was approaching and her uncle stopped picking calls. She tried using another number, and after he heard her voice, he ended the call again. To cut the story short, she ended up missing her first exam before getting help from someone else, and that's carryover flashing at her.
If he had said there was no money, she would have sought help elsewhere, so making promises we can't fulfill is very annoying. All these things and a few more aren't good habits, and I urge people to desist from them.
