A very random post ,available tools in Hive and DHF.

postIt all started with the @neoxian and to be honest I will not answer on it and actually, I spent a lot of time today on reading the comments below, iterating through multiple posts of @azircon and in the end, I have become more undecisive to take any side and decided to play Splinterlands and check some impressive battle strategy battle won by me so that I can complete both my daily quota of playing Splinterlands and have the framework for the posting splinterland challenge can be done. Unfortunately, Splinterland is in maintenance today, so I continued to read more and I decided to put some "related" tool stuff on Hive but I never have enough thought on them to create a full post on it.

1. Bee Balanced tool

This is the latest tool that gives the Krampus Coefficient (KE ) of your entire Hive Journey. If this coefficient is 1 , then it means your earned Hive rewards are equal to powered up Hive rewards, of it is less than 1 , then it means Hive power is more than earned rewards and if it is > 1 then it means Hive powered up is less than earned rewards. If you like to know more than yon can read this post.

Overall it is good tool, and only thing in this tool I will like to remove curation rewards in the calculation of the KE. In my opinion, many accounts delegate and receive liquid Hive for it, so it effectively reduce their "earned" curation income and give their KE edges against the manual curator. I always like the system that give edge to manual curator in KE score instead of putting them in disadvantage,

2 . Hivestats

Hive Stats is a nice tool to measure your weekly and monthly author and curation income. I used it extensively in past to track my Hive progress.

3. Hive-Now

Hivenow is the tool of you like to know the current stats for your account like, who upvoted you currently, how much curation reward transaction happened in last 24 hours, or how much is your current Voting power is etc. Look like an unfinished product but worth a visit if you like to see very current stats.

4. Hive Task

If you are using the above 3 tools the I guees almost all the functionality present in Hive Task are actually covered. I used it previously to check on the "New Followers" added in last few days.

5. Hive Engine Explorer.

If you are dealing with Hive-Engine (hive second layer) then you will definitely need Hive Engine explorer to track your transactions.

These are the few tools I know in Hive that are useful for daily operations.
please let me know, if you have list of other useful Hive tools.

Concluding my random thoughts.

Actual topic was to whether the Leofinance should be funded by DHF or not and reading all the stuff I got the below feeling which I can summarize as below:

  1. DHF fund is misused by most of the project (or simply goals were never meet).
  2. Projects never shared how they used fund and possible case of fund siphoning.
  3. DHF fund do not have milestone based criteria to release funds in chunk.
  4. There is no auditing mechanism in current DHF and everything is based on "trust".
  5. To be get funded by DHF , you need support from user who have skin in the game (simply HP), so popular opinion does not matter in DHF.

I feel that if we fix the DHF above issues then we will all together eliminate the question that who need to be funded or not funded as results/meeting milestone will automatically decide on it. I only wish that we have more transparency (how funds used), accountability (person to share the timely update of their DHF funded project) ,and auditing (that can verify the milestone/goals met) to gauge the worthiness of project to get continued funding.

Till now, I am able of think of these points only , may be I add more in the future.

The politics on Hive is quite crazy. It sounds like alot of people talking offchain getting votes for the DHF, and I don't know what to make of it. Honestly, I think most DHF proposals have similar issues. A lot of them don't generate results that justify giving them so much funds.

As for the tools, I think those are some good tools. The KE ratio is something I have seen people talk about and I think it's a good thing. There might be some downsides, but I still think it gives an overall idea of what the user does even with the curation rewards.

We need some solid rules and accounting for the DHF funding.

KE is not designed to help any individual. It is also not designed for anyone’s like or dislike. Finally, although I designed it, I didn’t design it for me :)

The purpose of KE is to find extractors. I don’t need a tool to find extractors; just a 10 sec glance at an account without using any tool I can find extractors:) I am natural at this. Doing it for 8 years.

KE is designed to help a random curator who is curating manually to objectively find an extractor where the curator can’t put a finger on the problem. It is designed after a lot of data analysis and research. I can prove that for most individuals curation rewards adding or not adding doesn’t make any difference. However, total rewards is a better metric because a lot of people don’t write and therefore doesn’t get any author rewards. So in their case their KE will be very small which is something I didn’t want.

Again KE is a metric, it’s my metric. It doesn’t have to be the only metric and it is not the only metric. I didn’t ask anyone to use it, but people are using it because they like it.

The goal is to not finding difference between KE =2 or KE=3. My point is there is a behavioral difference between 1 and 10 and that difference is absolute. There is no argument about it.

Hope this helps.

I am not seeking approval that is not my style:)

It is good to start with and few accounts KE was really an eye opener.

Thank you very much for the clarification, now I understand your tool better, if I have any questions I will let you know.

The Bee Balanced Tool is a tool that I didn't know about, but I'm going to check it out right now and if I don't understand something I'll let you know. I did know about the other tools.

Sure, Also do not forget to check the post shared in the article for better understanding.

Well, I just read the other post and I still don't know how it works or how a hive user can use it. If you could explain it to me, I would really appreciate it.

As a curator in Hive, it is your choice to upvote the author or not, based on the author KE score.
so basically it give you a score only, for a author and does nothing.
