P. Phalguni is 2 bright stars located one above the other from the constellation Leo (they form part of the back of Leo). Their names are Zosma and Chertan. However, other Vedic sages imagined these two stars as a headboard (or a swinging hammock) hence (in Vedic astrology) the symbol of Purvaphalguni is a hammock, Chertan.
