Artistic Makeup: Spiders

Sentir que se desplazan arañas sobre tu piel o dentro de ella, que entran por tus ojos o boca, son algunas de las imágenes más escalofriantes que puede crear la psiquis de alguien que siente aberración a esta especie. Esta condición es denominada aracnofobia, la cuál refiere al miedo excesivo hacia las arañas y todo lo que sea un referente de su posible existencia en el lugar. Esto me inspiró a realizar el maquillaje de hoy donde quise representar esta fobia a través de ilusión óptica.

Feeling spiders moving on your skin or inside it, entering through your eyes or mouth, are some of the most chilling images that can create the psyche of someone who feels abhorrence to this species. This condition is called arachnophobia, which refers to the excessive fear of spiders and everything that is a reference of their possible existence in the place. This inspired me to create today's makeup where I wanted to represent this phobia through optical illusion.

Proceso | Process

Se inicia el proceso de maquillaje, hidratando el rostro y aplicando un poco de base de maquillaje. En los ojos, luego rellenar el párpado móvil con maquillaje en crema negro, seguido sellamos con sombra violeta oscuro y difuminados en la cuenca superior del ojo. Se hace un delineado en el párpado inferior con negro y un poco de sombra violeta oscuro. En la línea de agua apliqué delineador blanco. Y complementé la mirada con máscara de pestañas. Y oscurecí y definí la forma de las cejas.

The makeup process begins by moisturizing the face and applying a little foundation. On the eyes, then fill in the mobile eyelid with black cream foundation, followed by sealing with dark violet shadow and smudging in the upper eye socket. The lower eyelid is lined with black and a bit of dark violet shadow. On the waterline I applied white eyeliner. And I complemented the look with mascara. And I darkened and defined the shape of the eyebrows.

Para las arañas con efecto de relieve desde dentro de la piel, utilicé una mezcla de base y pintura en crema blanca, para que me diera un tono más claro que el de mi piel, y fui dibujando la araña que deseaba representar. Luego, con sombra marrón claro y un poquito de violeta oscuro fui delineado seguido a un difuminado que realicé a las patas y cuerpo de la araña pintada previamente, para dar una apariencia de profundidad en la piel y relieve en la araña. Es importante, luego de conseguir el acabo deseado, sellar con polvo compacto, en las arañas; para que parezcan estar dentro de la piel y no pintadas.

For the spiders with a relief effect from inside the skin, I used a mixture of base and white cream paint, to give me a lighter tone than my skin, and I drew the spider I wanted to represent. Then, with light brown shadow and a little bit of dark violet I outlined followed by a blurring that I made to the legs and body of the spider previously painted, to give an appearance of depth in the skin and relief in the spider. It is important after achieving the desired finish to seal the spiders with a compact powder; so that they appear to be inside the skin and not painted.

En contra parte, realicé algunas arañas con pintura negra y muy importante hacer el reflejo de la sombra que se refleja en la piel, maquilladas con sombra marrón claro y negro difuminando según la figura que quería representar. Los labios los maquillé con un labial negro.
Y para finalizar apliqué un poco de rubor.

On the other hand, I made some spiders with black paint and very important to make the reflection of the shadow that is reflected on the skin, made up with light brown and black shadow blurring according to the figure I wanted to represent. The lips were made up with a black lipstick.
And to finish I applied a little blush.
