Anyone who is a fan of Korean skincare knows that the best foundation you can ever start your makeup look with is good skin.
It is my first time posting here in the Makeup Power Community. I just love the energy in this community. One of my regrets is not posting here sooner. I'm not a makeup girl. Ever since the beauty gurus of the world emerged from the kingdom of YouTube, I find that it has become so profound that a mere makeup commoner like me can't dare to even touch any makeup item anymore - my makeup skills will never measure up.
I don't have good skin, but we make the most of what we've been given, right? I'm going to take you through the time I went to Facial Care to avail of their facial services. How I got there? It was through an ad that popped up on my feed. "Free consultation," it said. Like any other adult who mindlessly scrolls through social media just because, the algorithm decided to lead me to Facial Care's page.
I first heard of Facial Care from Kryz Uy, a famous Cebuana influencer. She shared in one of her blogs that one of the best beauty investments she had made in her life was to get her armpit hair laser-removed in this beauty center. This is going to sound weird but her armpits look so good! That's why I decided to pay this clinic a visit to get a feel about how much their treatments would cost me.
When I first got there I remembered that their consultations were by appointment so I had to go again on another day to have my schedule. When it was finally my turn, I was led to their consultation office and I met Ms. Sonia. She was their head then examined my skin type and advised that based on my hair growth rate, she recommended 8 sessions of laser underarm therapy and that it would cost me Php 52,800. By that time, they had a 50% promo and if I paid right away they would then give me that special rate.
I thought to myself “50% of 52,800 is 26,400 I have that kind of money. But should I really be impulsive and spend it on this?” I decided right then and there that I wouldn't so I went to ask about their facial treatments instead. Miss Sonia tried to convince me to avail myself of the underarm laser light procedure and she pointed out that it was my intention in the first place. A part of me was still hesitant about spending that amount of money on that procedure alone. She kindly told me about the rates of their acne clear therapy and acne control facial. She examined my face, identified my skin type, and proceeded to advise me to get this treatment 6 times for 2 times a month. She told me that it would amount to 27,000. That was still quite expensive for me. In the end, I decided that I'm gonna try their facial for one time. She said that she highly recommends acne clear therapy and acne control facial twice to appreciate the results.
They require you to pay in advance first before giving your slot for the procedure I then started to open my savings account and paid off using that. It was still not an easy decision for me to make considering that I just went there because of an ad. Ultimately, I decided to go for it.
When I got there for my first facial appointment, one can immediately tell that it was an expensive place. From the couch to the paintings to the people that they had hired to be at the front desk - everything was curated. This was the hallway to their rooms. I had to pee first because it was getting really cold for me. Even their CR looked so posh.
This was one of the rooms, over there is the steam and lighting equipment. The protocol was to have the client put on their robe first and leave the things in a corner by the mirror. They had a compartment to lock valuables.
When I was settled in, the aesthetician kindly gave me instructions about what to do with my hair. I like to chat with service people to get a feel about their lives, and how management is treating them and to get to know them a bit more. From my chat with the aesthetician, I found out that all of them were nurses or at least had a background in the healthcare profession. In this case, they were giving care to their clients and it made me appreciate Facial Care more. I remembered one of my experiences in a beauty clinic here in Cebu that made me highly uncomfortable with beauty service personnel. I find myself feeling uneasy when I learn that people who touch my skin or treat me are not experts. They are trained, yes, but the extent of their training I am highly unsure about. This is how I came to the justification as to why Facial Care puts a premium on their price.
The aesthetician started with steaming my face. It opens up the pores so that whiteheads and blackheads extraction would be easier. I didn't have a picture of that, so I haven't included that here, that would have been awfully unsightly too 🤣. I'm not really sure if I'm missing anything, but to the best of my memory, the next steps were hydromedic face wash, toner, face scrub then the light therapy. It felt good to have invested some me time even if it was just so random. Was the price worth it? Absolutely. I paid Php 4000 for two sessions. I was surprised that the results could be seen immediately. I'd definitely up my beauty game now that I'm not getting any younger. Now that I have the MakeUp Power community to feature my latest beauty finds and regimen in, it will be more exciting!

The adult in us coupled with being a financialist comes in styles bcos all calculations would have been made on what else to do with that amount of money😁😄
I am a living witness to that and I don't think I would av made a better decision there😀
Hahahah I get you!
Hahaha😂😂😂
Ang mahal! Pero if it will be boosting your confidence and you having a better results compared to the cheaper ones why not naman daba!
I think getting the professionals such as nurses is a good choice and probably why it is costly din compared to other branches. Mas malaki ang pasahod sa kanila for sure compared to the regular technicians. Pero ang mahal parin ng services safeguard nalang muna ako.
I like your mindset @tpkidkai
Confidence > Money
What you chose to spend your money on, reflects what is important to you. If one chose to spend it on treatments like this, it's clear that one values confidence. Why not diba?
Tama nga naman, yung nurses mas malaki sahod compared to regular technicians. Yung ending line mo talaga yung pinaka highlight ng comment mo eh 🤣
Investment parin naman yan in the long run. If you look good, you feel good and it will radiate to others parin naman. Been missing those facial kineme session back then kung pwede lang at may budget nako nagdate na kami ni wife sa ganito pero walang mapag-iwan pa ng bata hahah.
Safeguard lang sakalam!
I know! Mag-iiba talaga priorities mo with each life stage noh. Swerte ng kids mo. Sana ma-appreciate nila sacrifices ng parents nila when they grow up 😊 safeguard na rin muna ako for now. 😂
