The Pier of Burgas - Walk with a sea view

Last week I wrote that I would show you this place later in time. A place that was seen in the background in one of the photos of my coastal walk.

And here it is, the famous Pier of Burgas.

IMG_20221225_203736.jpg

I happened to visit it twice in the last two years. And maybe these are the only visits here in my life (I told you that I don't know my native country very well).
And what I'm going to show you today is the second, more recent walk, a walk that happened at a pretty special time and felt pretty special.

IMG_20221225_203809.jpg

Maybe you noticed something from the first photo that makes an impression.
Yes, there are no people here. And in such a famous place it is impossible not to have people.
And it's not just that. The sun, the sea, the weather, the views... it's impossible not to have people here. But it's a fact. Because this walk was in an uncertain time, a time between many events and decisions, in which people did not quite know what they should do. Should they shut themselves up at home and watch the world from there, or just go outside for a warm and refreshing, wonderful and distracting walk, with a view of the sea.

IMG_20221225_203851.jpg

How could you miss this walk with a view of the sea! No matter what time we are in.

IMG_20221225_203932.jpg
(In the far background of the photo is the leaning building of the traffic control tower of the Port of Burgas. I will write about it some day too.) 😊

IMG_20221225_204016.jpg
(I will not hide that here I shot the very well-defined shadow of the railing on the pier. This is obvious.)🤭

IMG_20221225_204057.jpg

The 300 meter length of the pier makes it an ideal place for a walk.
And quite enough.
I'm sure people come here just to walk it once - back and forth, nothing more. Just to enjoy the sound of the waves and the screams of the seagulls... If one goes to the sea for only a few days, these animals can be put up with, right? And if you walk in such a wonderful place, you will even enjoy them, believe me 😃
(And if you're a local, I'm sure you stopped paying attention to them a long time ago.)

IMG_20221225_204130.jpg
(The 20-meter observation tower at the end of the pier.)

IMG_20221225_204208.jpg

Well, I didn't even photograph seagulls that day. I was busy with something else - Enjoying the silence (the absence of people) and the noise (the noise of the sea).

IMG_20221225_204255.jpg

I have told you before that a place can only be felt in the absence of people. Perhaps in the absence of the noise of people, the excess noise that distracts and diverts attention from the important things.

IMG_20221225_204327.jpg

So I felt lucky that day. I was privileged. Finding this landmark in such condition is not easy. Well, I spotted a few people around, foreigners. But they didn't bother me.

IMG_20221225_204350.jpg

There was no way because I took an unexpected direction. Not the direction you generally walk when visiting this place - the lookout I showed above.

IMG_20221225_204444.jpg

Of course, who else but myself would go down to the lower landing to check the construction and structure of the pier on the lower side.🤭

IMG_20221225_204545.jpg

There were no other applicants. But that's how I avoided the few other people around.

IMG_20221225_204751.jpg

Well, the view below didn't impress me. In fact, I suspected it looked that way and was in that condition. But I had to do an inspection. And then quickly, quickly, to return to the pier again.

IMG_20221225_204700.jpg

Do I need to mention that his appearance scared me a little. 😃 Nah, there's nothing to be afraid of. This structure has been receiving its many visitors every day since the 1980s.

And yet, I must go back. Not to go back to the hotel where I was staying, but to continue my walk. There are so many things to see in this beautiful city. And time is never enough.

IMG_20221225_204833.jpg
(View from my way back with a peculiar monument, a cat, of course, and graffiti.)

So, see you next time with my further sea stories.

This is my Wednesday contribution to #WednesdayWalk by @tattoodjay.

See you next time guys on this wonderful occasion! 😊

It is a great place, right 😊 Thank you! For me, a 300-meter straight promenade would be quite boring if there was no sea below. Entering the sea, little by little, step by step, the noise of the waves below, the cry of the seagulls above... Not boring at all 😃

So poetical, as usual! Thank you :)

It's a unique pier with a beautiful beach underneath, don't you try to swim, it looks like fun 🤭

Ha ha, it's too complicated for me here. I go to the sea only outside the tourist season when the weather is already not so good. In general, I don't go inside the Bulgarian part of this sea, because it is too dirty for me. 😄

😅😅, I understand, next time you should try it😁

You were so lucky to have this amazing place exclusively!

I am aware of that. 😊 I had the incredible opportunity to see it this way, as indeed many people have had the opportunity to see many places, gathering the courage to travel during the pandemic.

What lovely photos! Everything looks perfect even the bottom part of the dock. LOL! It's refreshing to see more of the view and less of folks walking around and taking photos too. Wish I also have access to a lovely view like this. It would be a breeze to do daily walks in such a beautiful place. An advance happy new year...

Sometimes the lack of people seems quite frightening. Especially when the reason for this is not good - a pandemic. But I still felt happy then. And privileged. People living on the coast are lucky, that's for sure 😊
Happy New Year in advance for you too! 🎇🥂🎊

A lovely walk indeed, with many quite amazing photos! Thanks for sharing again @soulsdetour! Happy New Year! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Beautiful photos! I'm dying to head down to the beach myself! The ohotis if that boardwalk are just wondrous! I don't know if I would have braved going under it like you though. I'd also struggle being on top of it and looking over the sides. I don't like heights very much.

Ha ha, I don't like heights too and I also have difficulty observing structures from different angles, but my curiosity gets the better of me in these cases. 🤭

It was worth it I think. Great shots!

Most piers look well dodgy to me from underneath
Thanks for sharing have a great one

It's not often that I get to look at them from below, but here I wanted to explore the construction that, admittedly, I knew couldn't be admirable. 🤭

Wow, you've taken some fantastic photos of a really lovely place! It is so cool that few to no people where there during the time you visited! Thanks for sharing! So beautiful! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It is so cool that few to no people where there

yes, that really rarely happens. Not in such a famous tourist attraction, for sure.
Thank you! 😊

Yes, exactly! You were in the right place at the right time, as the saying goes! Absolutely! Have a wonderful weekend and a glorious New Year! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Wow...you shared such soul warming and eye soothing photographs...@soulsdetour 🥰😍😍

They are, aren't they? 😃 That was a sought after effect. Sea always acts like that 🏖️🌊 and I'm happy you felt it too.

Oh this is cool. Isn't it amazing when you luck out on a quiet moment in a famous place? I love the shadows, they make the photograph very interesting.

Love a good pier. Where do you live, btw?

This is in Bulgaria, if that's what you ask 😊 I've also shown stuff from this city before because it's my favorite Bulgarian coastal city. It is located on the Black Sea and it's called Burgas.

Amazing. I'd love to goto Bulgaria.
