It was 6 years ago when I received a text from a stranger. "Hi" was his first message to me. I was in my 4th year in college that time. I am very busy because it was my practicum days. So, I ignored his texts.
As the days keep passing, the stranger one keeps on messaging me everyday! From good morning to good night! He is consistent even he is not receiving any replies from me. He added me on Facebook and stalked my account then he told me that I'm am his crush. He want to marry me someday. And for me, it was impossible because we don't know each other yet!
Until one day, his phone was broken. So, he could not send messages anymore. Upon waking up in the morning, I was used to read his messages. I was wondering that they why I am not receiving text from that "makulit person" ๐. After a couple of days without reading any text from him I thought he was giving up! But after a few more days he send me a message on my messenger "Hi ma'am, sorry I was not able to message you. My phone is broken". Then, I came to realized that I am missing his text messages. I never thought that the texts I was ignoring gives good impact to brighten my day that time.
So, we started dating and I get to know him better. I started liking him because he was so kind, hardworking and genuine person. It was (February 8, 2016) when I said Yes to him to be his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, we had limited time to have more bondings because he is a seafarer. We were in a Long Distance realationship. Yes! It's hard for us to be in this kind of realationship. We are miles away, we have different time zones, low internet connections, loads of works. These are some of the challenges we've conquered.
For me the secret to make a long distance relationship works is that TRUST your partner and never allow his/her feel jealous. Give time to communicate with each other and let your love keep burning even if your far away.
Fortunately, God allow him to pursue his promise in marrying me! Indeed! It was a great blessing to be in a right and very loving person!
I feel inspired in your love story. It's something that I can really learn from. Yeah, LDR is truly hard, but the trust is the most important aspects why you both preserved the relationship well.
