The village of Staraya Erykla, Ulyanovsk region. In an almost dead village located at a decent distance from the federal highway, there is an interesting landmark - an old abandoned wooden church. There is practically no information about it on the Internet, except for the year of construction - 1864, and that the church was consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary. When the temple was abandoned, whether there was anything in it during the Soviet Union - is unknown. Perhaps, if you search the archives, or find local residents, the situation will become a little clearer. In the meantime, we can only assume that the temple was abandoned in the 1920-1930s. There are no frescoes or drawings preserved inside the building, only some not entirely clear silhouettes resembling church domes.
