"Pleasant airy bar and lounge with separate adjacent restaurant. Outdoor area at lower level with pub's own campsite adjacent. Six berth bunkhouse below pub. Breakfast available to those camping or staying in bunk house."

A window worth saving, a blast from the past, when pubs were busy, and the ceilings brown from nicotine and tar when the air was hazy and blue. Now that's what I call a pub.
The pub, finally closed is doors in June 2017 and has remained empty ever since.
I am sure when the guru @slobberchops eventually gets around to uploading his visit he will without doubt confirm the bouncing means of entry! I have not done that before but yes the only way to get to the entrance was to boing boing boing across some fly tipped emergency evac landing coils.
C'mon
Let's mooch
Through the basement kitchen and up the stairs we go
Economics that don't make sense, 10p across the board price rise? No wonder they are going to have a last few months to go.
Bobby, mate, you ain't gonna be here at xmas, hope you didn't ask for much.
the decor leaves a lot to be desired, looks like a tart's boudoir.
That is one hell of a mark up, 95p must be the cost of the ingredients in either option
I don't know what it is like in other parts of the world but here in the uk, "all the trimmings" usually means carrots and fucking broccoli, I mean c'mon does any one other than a fussy eater actually like that green shite?
Always a sign of class (not), wine on draught FFS. I don't usually drink wine, but my son has just got me into drinking a brand called 19 crimes, red, white or rose, bloody lovely, highly recommended.
But in a clean glass of course.
Well I guess it beats Password1, just about.
Let's see what we can find in the private area, where the licensees lived
A few random photos. Nothing to get excited about too modern.
It's that Bobby dude again.
A few accounting bits from way back in 2006
I wonder if these were Bobby's boots growing up
Pretty boring little mooch, no history, not much treasure and now all I need to do is boing boing boing my way back to my motor.

Haha, the bouncy castle was fun... I hope you didn't miss the other bit, the one where you had to climb through the alternate window outside?
'course he did '...
Well it was shit in there and not worth the effort ... grin. 😀
Yup missed it, saw some chairs and stuff through like a patio window.
I don't do climbing....do I need to go back with a ladder?
LOL.. no, it was crap in there.
that'll do then, I shall admire your snaps in....2026?
Probably next year, I am falling even farther behind but haven't done as much exploring this year.
I know the feeling.

these ones where there has clearly been an abandonment always make me wonder what happened. sure it closed, but this wasn't an orderly winding up of business, this family has left stuff that must have had sentimental value of some sort.
thanks for the pictures
cheers @stuartcturnbull thanks for dropping in, those same thoughts go through my mind when I am in there, then try and find out a bit more about the place and their lives. This was quite tame compared to most of my little adventures tbh.
Those are some great photos. I wish I had more of these unique places around here.
cheers @trudgencia thanks for the input, sometimes you just have to spend a long time on google maps looking for strange places then take a chance and drive and check it out. Where in the world are you?
I sometimes wonder when looking at these explores if the community misses the people and businesses that are no longer there. Especially a pub like that one might have been a little community gathering spot. I don't know, that is just where my mind goes.
cheers @coinjoe you are not alone with those thoughts, I get them when I am in there reading stuff looking at stuff that were other peoples lives
I do hope when all is said and done, that I leave behind more than just a mess for people to explore, but good memories too.
just let me know where you are.................. LOL
Im in the U.S. doing an explore here could be hazardous to your health. Some crazy peeps with guns over here.
Good luck with that then!!! LOL
Place for the people to unwind, sing a song, have a beer or two, backbone of the working class.
Sad they are disappearing as are many other things people once were proud of.
!BEER
Yes a dying heart of a community, but why go to a pub and pay £5 for a pint, when in the supermarket you can buy 4 cans for that price. People have become insular and do not mix
People have shied away from many things that were treated as a normal, wacky ideas and greed have put paid to wonderful old traditions that the English had.
I agree, the biggest killer to the pub industry was the banning of smoking. Crikey, remember when we could smoke on airplanes LOL
Air was properly scrubbed on planes in the old days, also smoked on flight to continent from down here, much more leg room, not the can of sardines effect they have today.
ah yes leg room! now you have to pay extra for that "luxury"!
Most definitely no longer comfortable for average Joe....

Nice building - the interior was indeed odd and budoir looking. Pity it did not survive - maybe there was a more central one in the village.
They could have take Bobby's baby shoes.
well hello again @momogrow I haven't seen you about in a longtime! that actually is one of two pubs that I know of in the village, the other is very upmarket and classy, but tucked away from view. This one is right on the side of a very busy road! But down market I would say.
Yes the shoes, weird that one of a pair was left
Wow!... An almost surreal place!... Excellent post glinde friend!

The decor is odd, but what struck me more is how intact it all is. I would expect there to have been a great deal more vandalism over the course of seven years. Nice to see that there hasn't been, though!
Thank you for sharing!
cheerts @willendorfia yes indeed a good point , vandalism free which is unusual
