I'd been to this establishment a couple of months ago to get some plants for my garden, stuff that the "Big box/Brick and Mortar" stores didn't have.
I got the above invitation via email, and just because I needed to get out and away, and because my friend @acgalarza asked me to get some photos, I did.
To the left is the actual store/business, and I am sad to say the plants for the most part looked MISERABLE, since we've had such abysmally hot weather.
I guess at night all those plants go inside that part with the roll down doors.
↑Another view, looking through the aisles at that building
↑Over to the street side was the fair, usually a vacant lot I thing. That first booth
Had scented candles, I didn't really talk to this lady, but she seemed very nice (I told EVERYONE that I was taking pics for a friend in Germany!)
I spent a LOT of time in the next booth, where I was given this demo about the worms (can't remember the names) that you feed The adult beetles your leftover green cuttings to (or feed them on grain) they each lay 10,000 eggs
In the next image, what looks like the grain from the middle drawer is mostly worm castings (poop) which is great fertilizer.
WHY do all this you ask? They feed their chickens, but other animals and people too eat these things.
Once the worms get full and have no food left, you separated them
They become lonely and change to Pupae and then adults and you start over
Then once we got past the worms, our conversations ranged wide, come to find out they have a LARGE garden (they had produce there as well, and I bought a small loaf of Zucchini?Blueberry bread, homemade of course.
They also have a GUTTER business (rain collection gutters) and are coming this coming Monday to give me an estimate for the Studio building. I may get a free Chestnut tree outta the deal.
Then I went past the guy playing guitar to the glass blowers. All hand made
I asked if he'd blown the hood ornament for the old Model T sitting there
He said "No, but my Daddy did, it's his car"
↑Cut flowers for sale
↑Homegrown, home cooked... looked good too!
I felt sorry for this guy, he was trying so hard, and they DID smell great, but... $27 for one of those candles at his left elbow, I don't care organic what or original art, (he said they would burn for 50 HRS?) Was just too much for me
Then there were the artists (did I mention it was bloody 🔥 hot out there today?)
😤
I can't believe I didn't get a pic of the CUTE young art girl, we had a nice chat about art and living out west...
Oh well
So there you have it, my trip to the

Very, very nice, @jerrytsuseer! I just love the pics! I got to feeling I was there!
I've been researching lately about the worm hotel to produce fertilizer. I found a couple of very good tutorials and I think I'm going to build at home. They are very useful indoors. In the winter when the weather gets below 0 you can have one of those hotels indoors and keep feeding them the kitchen scraps.
In regard to worms for human consumption - I have not found anything. I'm very interested in learning about that. As you know, there is a culture for consumption in southern Mexico. I just think it worthwhile learning about it. Just in case! 😉
The Model T looks beautiful!
Thank for the pics and the nice post, my friend!

I'm happy to have piqued your interest Armando, I should think that in winter they would also generate a small amount of heat, metabolizing all that and creating the fertilizer, as it were.
I will look see can I find a source for the HOOMAN consumption of them as food, if I find it I will let you know.
Thanks for the tips as well @acgalarza
We cook fresh all year round, but in winter is hard to bury the kitchen scraps in our compost area - because is frozen. A worm hotel could be a super alternative.
Yes, if you find something let me know, please!
Have a great Sunday, @jerrytsuseer
Will do my friend!
