That's something I used to do a lot. As a kid, obviously I tried to get inside every empty house I found, especially those in the countryside. I tried to guess how it looked like before I went inside and then imagined people living there before everything was broken, dirty and abandoned. It also gives a perception of time. Some very good houses, way better than new ones, are now empty and falling apart. Families were formed there, somebody grew up there, people were happy there.

So nice to meet a fellow adventure and feeler. So agree on the value of the older houses over the new ones. Lots of new houses looking the same in real estate properties reminds me of the song called 'Little Boxes'. A great song.
