Guns are illegal here. Even pointing one at us is deemed illegal and the shooter would get arrested.

Even in the case of self-defense? If there is an intruder on the premises you cant shoo him away by pointing your gun?
Here in Estonia, we can own a gun but we need a permit for it and it's a lengthy process. Don't know if we can actually use it for self-defense.
