I had to laugh at the name given to what was previously a Sunday school building by a YouTube dude whom I gained the information about this location from.
Do kids really want to go to more school on Sundays? I hated the idea of it when I was young and fiercely rebelled at being pushed to go.
There have been a couple of reports of ‘DeathTrap Mill’ being bounded around lately, all of them after my visit with @goblinknackers in December 2019.
Some are not fans of the YouTube crowd, but I do take advantage of their leaks and information concerning locations and access.
The video revealed no information besides the city and it was only due to seeing the big sign on the side of a wall while driving to another explore, that I exclaimed to @goblinknackers, ‘that’s DeathTrap Mill over there’!
I’m not sure if he was excited at going into a place with such a name.
Once in the area it was easy to locate and even easier to get in, though I wont reveal how. A druggie was shuffling along the road and we had to wait for him to get out of sight before entering.
This was not the way in. Next to the door was a load of used needles, I’m getting used to seeing them in this city.
Unlike some explores this one was jammed packed full of all kinds of crap. It was also pretty unstable underfoot though I have been in worse death-traps.
We saw plenty of these big signs and I was thinking ‘Bioshock’, the game that is.
@goblinknackers was pulling at these desks but they would not open. As well as this they were nailed to the floor. It’s not like anyone’s going to nick em!
At this point, we had no idea it was any kind of school and thought they may make desks for the local community.
Getting to the other side of this room was a challenge. Too much junk in the way so I had to backtrack and go around. The floor was really unstable with several holes making me think ‘DeathTrap’ once again.
That’s a Betamax tape; they didn’t catch on in the UK and were beaten by VHS as the standard.
Down there was creepy, can you imagine it without a huge light?
A Commodore C16/Plus-4 tape deck, but a Commodore 64 tape within. This would never work as they were not compatible systems.
There were plenty of these kinds of magazines hanging around. 2002 it says, I guess it’s been empty for some time.
An old Amstrad Satellite receiver, I remember them well but never had that brand.
Good luck getting past all this junk, I didn’t bother trying so could not see what was in the further reaches of this room.
As you can see the upper floor is rather holey. Time to go upstairs and see if this is really ‘DeathTrap Mill’.
The stairs were stone and you could have gotten a 20 stone bloke up them. The second storey was another matter.
Huge holes everywhere and getting to this vantage point I was treading very warily.
There was going to be no walking across this room. We retreated down the stairs and found some more stairs which reached the other side.
I love the colours on the top floor. All that green coming down from the collapsed roof makes for some stunning photography.
The basement area was dark, I mean black. A normal torch won't touch this level of darkness.
@goblinknackers likes to look in all the nooks and crannies. He climbed over all this junk to find a room with very little. Still, it saves me going in there.
The ‘DeathTrap Mill’ name still makes me laugh. It’s not a mill, more a huge building in the city.
It could be your death if you’re not careful, especially on the upper floors but the ‘do not enter’ I could not endorse.
If you found this article so invigorating that you are now a positively googly-eyed, drooling lunatic with dripping saliva or even if you liked it just a bit, then please upvote, comment, resteem, engage me or all of these things.
That is pretty cool. This one totally reminds me of something out of one of the Fallout games. When I was a kid, Sunday School was just an hour long and you went to it while your parents sat through the full sermon. It wasn't that horrible. Fantastic shots. You guys did a great job capturing this and coming out alive!
It was all religion here too, but I was not into all that.. I wanted to go creating trouble somewhere!
@slobberchops, Sometimes names of Buildings are so weird but the actual reality makes no sense when name doesn't match with the Environment of so called place. In my opinion YouTube is Hub Of Hyper Speculations. 😁😂
Enjoy your time ahead and stay blessed.

They do exaggerate things, but it does make for a good title. I couldn't find what the company name was in this case, so went for the lazy option!
😁😁
So much treasure in there! Did you claim any of it or do you have a policy against that sort of thing?
Can't take anything, that would not be ethical, and is criminal too. Entering and taking photographs is simply trespassing.
Some fantastic stuff in there, love the old signs/fliers
That old place looked like it was loaded with all kinds of stuff. A few of the shots reminded me of the Fallout Vegas game. All the metal shelving and the free rolling shelf stairs brought up images of the Boomers generator room and ant nest.
I did like all the after people type shots of the second floor. Mother nature with the help of her little flying fertilizers, returning the greenery to that floor even a few small trees/plants. Pretty nice place to see.
Yes, I loved the place, no druggies inside either though I was surprised they were absent.
Wow what a place. Seems a throwback to 100 years ago with the furniture and the 80s with that beta tape.
If you were more obsessed with photography, I could see you getting distracted by all of the unique stuff and falling victim to that death trap.
Death to Sunday school!!

The building is probably 100 years old, maybe more. They all steemed up from the 1860s and 1870s when Britain was undergoing the industrial revolution.
There was a lot of junk in this one, the tape deck intrigued me as that is from the mid to late '80s.
Oh yes!!!
Lots of cool retro stuff in there. Very photogenic. This is definitely one of your better ones. Just watch those dodgy floors.
