This is a house that I explored backed in the spring and loved it's style and architecture! It was completely untouched, not boarded and a gem of a find! The only area of the property that I could not access was the basement because the door was sealed off.
Over the weekend a good friend of mine came from out of town and we set out to explore. I knew he would enjoy the history of this home!
When we went to the back of the house, we saw that the exterior basement door was wide open. I ventured inside and had my mind blown!
The first thing I saw was this very large safe.
Then a metal shelf with a 1950's Brownie camera and a bag full of Edison Blue Amberol records. They were dated 1913 and after having to look up what they even were, found out they were produced from 1912 to 1929.
I walked into the next room that had old wood shelves full of boxes. There was a bit of decay but when I took a closer look I couldn't believe my eyes! There were postcards and letters from the early 1900s, photos from the 1800s (Farmer Brothers Photography was open from 1840 to 1892) and antique dinnerware and dishes from the 1800s/1900s.
There was a full box of these tea cups and plates.
This was a truly historic find and I am so glad that I returned to this house to find it!
what a lovely find.. and all the photos always my favourite! thankyou for sharing this with us
Question, though. If the house is abandoned, why is there still electricity flowing into it?
We couldn't figure that out either. It is boarded up, I have read the development plans and it will be demolished but don't know why they left the power on. I have seen weirder though lol Went to a house that was abandoned more than a decade and it still had power and a working phone line
jesus that is fucking awesome @terrywayne just simply awesome
I'm really surprised how well the house looks after such a long period of time passing over it, but it's definitely not just a historic find but also a rare one just because you won't find every day something that lasts for so long without breaking apart.
This is not just a historical find. This is a treasure. For sure there is more stuff in the basement but make sure you don't break in. Be ready with your video camera too. You might capture some paranormal entity in there.
I'm also glad you returned to the house😅. Well done and thank you for filling us in on the discovery as well as lovely pictures.
Wohhh, that's one big super safe
One can easily tell it's solidity, it's really a nice piece of work put together
Plus The house is truly packed with history, imagine those photographs, who would have thought they'll be able to lay hands on photos from 200years back... Truly an awesome find, I'm as happy as you by just coming across this content, thanks for sharing ✌️❤️

These images are very lit.
I admire people like you who have the courage to venture abandoned houses like this one.
Just curious, do you have some spooky experiences exploring such places?
Very rarely but it has happened
Very interesting!
