The Stonechurch Storm Trunk (also known as the Juggernaut) is located in the south end of Hamilton Ont. and is known as the largest storm drain in Canada. It runs for over 6km and in its best sections is a massive, arch-ceiling loaf-shaped conduit with a 5 foot deep channel running down its center. A few years ago part of that amazing section was repaired and altered. The 5 foot deep channel became a 10 foot tall channel and the arched ceiling was shortened.
I hadn't been inside the tunnel for at least 6 years and decided it was long overdue. ( Entrance of tunnel in another post: https://hive.blog/hive-194913/@terrywayne/taking-advantage-of-some-crazy-weather) We walked a large portion of the tunnel but didn't make it anywhere near the whole 6km. We ended at the 50 foot long settling pond.
Very cool! Love this kind of stuff. So much to explore under the cities. Thanks for posting
