Well, ruins date to different times and eras. This one, in particular, is at least 300 years old. But from what I have found about it on the internet, it was during the communist era indeed when it started to decay. But the regime has long been gone (since 1989 here) so there surely were opportunities to save and preserve the landmark...
God, how many similarities between us, although we are not even neighbours as a country we have so much in common.
The same in Romania the communist period existed until 1989 (when the revolution came and removed the president, sentenced him to death), we also have Women's Day - 8 March (Mother's Day as we remember the name from the communist period).
If I look some more I'm sure I'll find some similarities😊
I think it´s actually not that surprising as your country was, just like mine, under the influence of the Soviet Union. I´m sure we would find many more similarities if we started to search for them but do we really want to commemorate those times? I don´t think so ;)
You are right if we want to look for similarities we will find many.
During the communist period I was only a few years old and did not feel the harshness of the system, and when I am old enough to understand what happened then, it is clear that I would not want to relive those times, although some old people who lived through those times believe that it was better then.
Same here. Everything ;) I was also too young to understand things when the regime was still here back then in late 80s, I too don´t want anything like that to happen again now that I´m old enough to comprehend what life was like back then but we do have old people here too who feel like it was better under the communist regime... Interesting. So we must be of the same (or very similar) age. I thought you were actually younger because I thought you were the same age as your friend MissDeli who I´m pretty sure is younger than me. Or maybe she just looks so young? :D
Hi, I apologize for not replying until now but I've been sick and the illness kept me bedridden and I couldn't actually concentrate to write a few lines, now I've recovered and I'm here again, I have to admit I'm not 100% recovered, I honestly don't even know what diagnosis I had, but it was very hard.
I turn 39 this year, I'm older than missdeli, hehe.
I´m sorry to hear that, I noticed you haven´t been active here lately... Get well soon my friend!
