During one of my trips through Southeastern Bulgaria, I passed through a small village not far from the town of Harmanli.
While driving I noticed that one of the houses had an open door and the fence was almost collapsed. Instinctively I hit the brakes and stopped. I looked around in an attempt to spot any sign of occupants or evil dogs, but to my delight, the yard was deserted and silence had taken over the street.
I grabbed my camera, locked the car, and headed for the abandoned house. The yard was overgrown with grass and shrubs, and the fence had an opening through which I walked without any trouble.
The roof seemed to be in pretty good condition, unlike the rest of the house. It is a fact that when the roof doesn't leak, the building underneath can last for a long time without collapsing.
There was a well in front of the house, which was providentially covered with tin, apparently to protect the living creatures around from accidents.
The house was small but somehow magical. It had a simple square shape, with two windows and a veranda with a door wide open. I couldn't wait to go in and explore the interior and the objects that were inside.
I felt like I had traveled 100 years back in time. The house consisted of a single room that had two built-in cupboards on the wall at the left. On the top shelf in one of the cupboards, there was an empty bottle, and in the other, there was an object I couldn't guess.
I looked up and saw that the ceiling was missing. The roof structure was in very good condition, there were no signs of water leakage, which was the reason the house remained solid.
I became curious about where exactly the kitchen and bathroom were located. Judging by the age of the house I believe the toilet was an outside septic tank, but there was no sign of such a room in the house or in the garden.
The windows were quite dusty. Sunlight was hard to get through them, but the effect of the light coming through the dirty glass was spectacular.
The atmosphere inside was magical. I felt like I was in the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale. The prince was there, only the Beauty was missing :)
I don't know if you've ever been in a building that old, but the smell inside gives you a feeling of antiquity. I felt like I could feel the scent of time that have stopped here a century ago.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a few minutes to read my post.
Stay safe and never stop exploring the world around you.
Yours,
George
The truest art is what we create from the bottom of our hearts. According to the norms of society, some of us are born with the talent to create art and some of us aren't. I completely disagree with this comprehension.
I believe every human being has her/his own unique way of expression and it is not necessary to be born with the talent of a poet, writer, painter, or composer. Each of us could express hers/his view of the world in words and pictures. And if you can't paint, dance, or sing, just describe your feelings, memories, and dreams in your own words and color them with pictures you have taken yourself.
This is the unique advantage of Hive over all social platforms.
Here, you don't have to pose as who society expects you to be. On Hive you can be yourself with all your disadvantages and no one will judge you for not following the "standard". Because on Hive there are as many "standards" as the number of the members of this blockchain society.
