Hello, Urban explorers!
This is my first post to the community. I hope you enjoy my observations and explorations of my city. I live in Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg.
Some time ago, in my municipal area, an experiment was being conducted in which the municipal authorities tried to decorate the courtyards of the area. There are transformer buildings in the neighborhoods. The municipal authorities have decided to invite artists to paint graffiti on them.
What is the difference from the graffiti that free artists paint on the walls? These graffiti were dedicated to the history of St. Petersburg and Russia, outstanding personalities in the history of the country, family values.
This theme is different from the graffiti that artists usually paint on the walls.
I walked around the area and took photos of some transformer buildings with graffiti.
Here is Peter the Great (Peter I) Tsar reformer and founder of St. Petersburg. The city was built by his order in 1703.
The Great Northern War (1700–1721)
This graffiti shows some places in St. Petersburg. Spit of Vasilievsky Island, which is one of the most remarkable.
This graffiti is dedicated to the Second World War and the victory over fascism. One of the famous monuments is depicted on the wall. The Soviet War Memorial is a war memorial and military cemetery in Berlin's Treptower Park.
The second graffiti was created for the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War.
On this side of the wall, a scene is depicted with cars carrying food across the ice across the lake to besieged St. Petersburg. The inscription translates as "The feat of the people is immortal".
Yuri Gagarin is the first person to visit Space.
The Swallow's Nest. This is an architectural monument located in the south of Russia.
And this is a transformer building in my yard :) The inscription above: Family is the main thing in life
Transformer building near our clinic. Inscription - We choose sport
The collection is completed with the latest graffiti, which was painted this summer. There is no topic here. Perhaps this idea has been lost over the years. The artists just depicted fantasy faces.
I'm sure there are many more such transformer buildings. I just found some of them that come across my way.
Cheers
Veta

They are absolutely wonderful! I'm glad to see Russia following the steps of the rest of Europe in this matter. Long gone are the days where Graffiti was considered a criminal act. 🤗
@trincowski Yes, you're right. More and more legal graffiti is appearing, and I am happy about it.
Beautiful selection of Street Art, especially the one about Yuri Gagarin.
Thanks for sharing these pics.
@heroldius Yes, I also like Yuri Gagarin graffiti the most :)
