看到今年的士林官邸新蘭亭春節花卉展已經開始了，消失的記憶忽然開始攻擊我，想起我之前曾和家人前往士林官邸，當時除了拜訪新蘭亭，也順道欣賞一下園藝展覽館。
新蘭亭主打展出各類品種的蝴蝶蘭，讓人看得目不暇給，忍不住狂拍照，所以很容易看完新蘭亭就跳過了園藝展覽館，但其實園藝展覽館還是滿有看頭的。
園藝展覽館其實在平時是作為某些機關開辦園藝課程的教室，一般民眾可以透過課程學會園藝基礎栽培與生活應用等內容，不過在特定期間也會開放園藝展出。
它的建築外形樸實無華，由古色古香的紅磚砌成，遠遠望去真的很難發現該館也有展覽，好在人群也算絡繹不絕，加上也是入場參觀完全免費，所以我和家人就誤打誤撞進入參觀一下。
園藝展和展出花卉的新蘭亭不同，它的重點放在花藝的展現，也就是將園藝融合藝術色彩而呈現，在春節期間通常會加上生肖和各種祝福的裝飾，所以在此處完全能夠感受到滿滿喜氣，即便沒有新蘭亭有名氣，感覺這裡的人群也是相當多。
如果是本身喜歡園藝或插花的人大概會很喜歡園藝展覽館，但不太了解園藝的人，應該也會滿喜歡此處的，因為這裡除了可以探討園藝之美外，也能圖個熱鬧沾沾春節的福氣，雖然我對各類植物一竅不通，但光是欣賞園藝展裡的各種裝飾和造景，當時也算是看得津津有味。
忽然發現士林官邸真的有很多地方可以參觀，除了新蘭亭、玫瑰園、西式庭園等處可以遊覽，有空瑕時間欣賞一下園藝展，也是個不錯的選擇。
I just saw that the Lunar New Year flower exhibition at the New Orchid Pavilion in Shilin Residence has already started, and suddenly, forgotten memories came rushing back. I remembered visiting the Shilin Residence with my family before—besides visiting the New Orchid Pavilion, we also stopped by the Horticulture Exhibition Hall.
The New Orchid Pavilion focuses on showcasing various species of Phalaenopsis orchids, an absolutely dazzling display that had me constantly snapping photos. It’s easy to get so caught up with the orchids that you might skip the Horticulture Exhibition Hall, but honestly, it's worth a visit too.
The Horticulture Exhibition Hall is usually used as a classroom for certain organizations to host gardening courses. The public can join these courses to learn basic gardening skills and practical applications for everyday life. However, during specific times of the year, the hall is opened for horticultural exhibitions.
Its exterior is simple and unassuming, built with classic red bricks that give it a vintage charm. From afar, you might not even realize that exhibitions are held inside. Luckily, the steady stream of visitors and the fact that admission is free led my family and me to wander in out of curiosity.
Unlike the New Orchid Pavilion, which focuses on displaying flowers, the Horticulture Exhibition Hall emphasizes floral art—combining gardening with artistic expression. During the Lunar New Year period, the exhibits are often adorned with decorations related to the zodiac and festive blessings, creating an atmosphere full of joy and celebration. Even though it’s not as famous as the New Orchid Pavilion, the crowd was surprisingly large.
If you’re someone who loves gardening or floral arrangement, you’ll probably enjoy the Horticulture Exhibition Hall. But even for those unfamiliar with gardening, it’s still a charming spot to visit. Beyond appreciating the beauty of horticulture, you can also soak up the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year. Although I know nothing about plants, I thoroughly enjoyed admiring the creative decorations and landscaping on display during my visit.
It suddenly dawned on me how many places there are to explore at the Shilin Official Residence. Besides the New Orchid Pavilion, there’s the Rose Garden, the Western-style Garden, and more. If you have time to spare, checking out the Horticulture Exhibition Hall is definitely a worthwhile choice.
