Lions Gate Bridge in a rainy day

Most tourists love visiting historical sites while traveling, but I don’t have a particular preference for them. As long as a place is easy to get to and offers beautiful scenery, I’ll try to visit if I have the time. That’s why, when I was traveling in Canada, I often found myself walking several kilometers a day without realizing it. While in Vancouver, I visited the famous Stanley Park, and as I wandered around, I unexpectedly came across the Lions Gate Bridge.
The Lions Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge connecting downtown Vancouver to the North Shore municipalities. It’s not only a well-known landmark but was also designated a National Historic Site of Canada on March 24, 2005. The bridge spans 1,517.3 meters (4,978 feet) and even appeared as a filming location in Final Destination 5. When I first saw it, I thought its appearance resembled the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Later, I found out that both bridges were actually designed by the same architect.
They say that if you drive across the bridge, you get an even better view of the stunning landscape, and you can also catch a glimpse of the lion statues on the bridge. However, I personally think that admiring the bridge from below offers a unique perspective as well.
At the time, I had no idea that this bridge was a famous historic site—I was simply drawn to how breathtakingly beautiful it looked against the ocean, so I couldn't stop taking photos.
I was riding my bike in pouring rain, my lightweight raincoat completely failing to keep me dry. I was soaked from head to toe, and my phone wasn’t waterproof at all. But despite that, I couldn’t help but stop to take in the incredible sight of the Lions Gate Bridge, trying my best to capture the rare moment with my phone.
At first, I assumed that photos taken on such a rainy day would turn out terrible. When I checked them at the time, they seemed unimpressive due to the mist. But looking back at them now, I realize that some of them are actually quite beautiful. Perhaps the rain was falling too heavily on the water, so that a large group of ducks to gather peacefully in the sea. Paired with the grandeur of the Lions Gate Bridge, it unexpectedly created a rare and stunning scene.
