This week's Photo Quest from Qurator is Macro Photography of Food, and I'm participating with a photo shot at a restaurant. It's a lovely delicate dish with layers of fish and veggies. After it was served, I styled it into the full blooming form and photographed it up close.
I'll also share with you the rest of my photo journal from this pleasant gastronomic experience. Restaurant Nuance was founded by a Belgian couple. The husband is a passionate chef, while the wife has a background in hotel management. Isn't this a fantastic combination? This hidden treasure has two Michelin stars and an 18 (out of 20) Gault & Millau rating. It's also a member of the renowned Les Grandes Tables du Monde.
Nestled in a modern setting, the restaurant exudes subtle elegance. I liked its intimate and cozy atmosphere that fosters relaxation and enjoyment. We savoured the tasting menu, which included eight courses, drinks, and desserts. The cheese board is also available as an extra option before desserts.
The meal exemplifies the chef's innovative flair and superb execution. As you can see from my photos here, each dish is meticulously crafted, paying homage to both traditional and contemporary flavours. Every mouthful reflects the chef's creative approach and attention to detail, producing a harmonious symphony of tastes and textures.
Fresh, seasonal produce makes up the majority of the high-quality ingredients. From the vibrant hues of the veggies to the luscious meats and exquisite seafood, the selection is remarkable. Aside from the traditional Flemish cuisine, global influences were visible too, such as the sesame balls with sweet fillings.
The restaurant's commitment to detail is not limited to the kitchen. The curated wine list features an impressive selection, expertly paired to complement the flavours of the dishes. The warm and inviting ambiance, together with the staff's attentive and knowledgeable service, all contributed to the exceptional dining experience.
受到Qurator这周摄影主题“微距食物”的启发,我来分享一次米其林餐厅的体验。
这家比利时餐厅Nuance的主理人是一对夫妻,丈夫是主厨,妻子学的酒店管理,真是为开饭店而生的组合呀。
餐厅装修风格简约现代,温馨舒适的氛围让人觉得很放松。品尝菜单包括八道菜,还有饮料和点心。甜点之前也可以另外加选奶酪拼盘。
从我这里的照片应该可以看出来,每道菜都是精心制作,凝聚着厨师的创意和技法,新鲜的食材盛放在各色精致的器皿中,视觉嗅觉味觉皆为盛宴。
除了传统的弗拉芒特色菜,也透着世界风,比如那几颗小芝麻球,这便宜又普遍的亚洲街头小吃,被减少数量,再丢到有点设计感的容器里,身价也立马大增。想起比利时便宜又普遍的啤酒Stella Artois,曾经在大洋彼岸的纽约看到过好几次,都是被当成精品装扮一番在出售,身价也是嗖嗖地往上涨。
