Grotto is a type of traditional eatery based on stone caves in Ticino, the Italian-speaking region in southern Switzerland. Nowadays, they mostly offer outdoor stone tables surrounded by shady leafy trees. The menu, you guessed it, features a selection of Italian dishes, as well as some Germanish food.
Today I'm sharing my dining experience at one of them, Grotto del Mulo. It's located in the beautiful mountain valley in Biasca. There are a few other grottos close by. I adored these rustic stone houses dotted in the green woods. You can see palm trees too, yes, it's not the Mediterranean, but this region has a micro-climate that is warmer than the northern parts of the country.
We ordered vitello tonnato and roast beef, and while waiting, I witnessed two men from the grotto preparing a suckling pig dish. Vitello tonnato is a cold dish of sliced veal covered with a creamy tuna sauce. It comes from the Piedmont region, and it is one of my favourite Italian dishes. I think this light refreshing meal is ideal for summertime.

这家餐馆叫穆罗石窟，在比亚斯卡风景秀丽的山谷里。旁边还有几家其他的石窟餐馆。我很喜欢这些掩映在青山绿林中的乡村石头房子。还能看到棕榈树，没错，在瑞士能看到棕榈树！这里虽然不是地中海，但是这块地区的局部气候比瑞士其他地方要温暖。
我们点了金枪鱼酱小牛肉和马铃薯烤肉。金枪鱼酱小牛肉来自皮德蒙特地区，是我最喜欢的意大利菜之一。我觉得这种比较清淡的冷盘很适合夏季食用。这家的菜看上去并不讲究，典型的农家风格，但味道好，分量也足。
价格在抢钱国自然也不会低，我拍的墙上菜单可以看到，26瑞郎一盘，在意大利一些乡下地方我吃过三分之一价格的。而且现在欧元贬值，一欧只相当于差不多一美元，连一瑞郎都换不到，往年过来玩时还比瑞郎值钱。
等上菜时，还看到餐馆的两个男人在准备烤乳猪。可怜的小猪🐷，不知将成为谁的盘中餐。
