ASUU, NIGERIA AND YOU!

The 2020 strike does not really count because it occurred during a time when there were restrictions on physical gathering. As a result, that is likely one of the reasons it was not given priority and was not resolved in a timely manner. If there had been no COVID and lockdown, it also is likely that the strike would not have lasted up to 9 months.

Therefore, the strike that lasted 5 months and 15 days in 2013 is considered to be the longest strike ever.

But if things continue as they are, this strike might record as the longest in history. This current strike would have matched that record in two days and surpassed it in three days. By the 14th of the next month, the strike would have lasted for a full six months. a half-year! More than half a class period is covered by that.

Statistics show that ASUU has staged 16 strikes over the course of 23 years, totaling 1404 days since 1999. In other words, since 1999, there have been 61 days on average every year that federal institutions have been on strike. There seldom ever is a semester without a strike, a warning strike, or rumors of a strike.

Which is worse? No conclusion is in sight. The parties are not even willing to reach a mutual understanding, let alone talk about carrying out the agreement. Why? Government employees' children do not attend public schools. No matter how sympathetic you are, you cannot feel the pain of a wound that you are not tending to.

The earlier you begin setting priorities for your time as a young person and getting ready for life beyond graduation, the better. This insight usually occurs after graduation or NYSC.

My acquaintance who recently graduated from the most current class of NYSC contacted me:

"What's up? What about that internet money-making stuff you mentioned earlier? I am finally prepared."

She began discussing about post-NYSC anxiousness and other related issues, as well as the knowledge that she had been thrust into the rapidly expanding job market, when someone jokingly asked her why the sudden change.

Although I am familiar with anxiety, I was unaware that post-NYSC anxiety even existed. Well...

The majority of teenagers realize it at that point. when kids become independent of their parents. when you are no longer able to "add modest anything" to your tuition. Even though they might not be saying it out loud, it feels like everyone is asking you, "What exactly do you want to do with your life?" since the expectations and obligations are now on you.

Maybe you can't relate right now, but maybe you will in the future. But I do suggest...

Waiting for Nigeria to happen to you won't help. Time doesn't wait for anyone, so don't wait for it either. Make constructive use of it.

You have a smartphone, you use it often, burn data, and recharge it occasionally, but do you make money using it?

When someone first informed me I could make money using my smartphone less than a year ago, I immediately thought of wiping the person a USB cord. I grew. You can, too. Allow yourself to undergo change.

Before you can make money online, you don't need to have a laptop, major in technology, or perform any difficult coding tasks or technical analyses. Use only your smartphone. Post a book on Amazon. Start your affiliate marketing campaign. As a freelancer, you can provide your "soft" skill and get paid in dollars. These are highly profitable digital enterprises that can be run successfully on a smartphone.

Try to balance any offline or analog expertise you may have with a digital skill or business.

A few years from now, you will be grateful to yourself. The world is quickly advancing at an incredibly fast pace and it doesn't cast its cares on whether you grew up in a third world country or not.

Cheers to your continued productivity!🥂

When someone first informed me I could make money using my smartphone less than a year ago, I immediately thought of a USB cord...

Pls, what do you mean by this USB cord? 🤔

Yeah, everyone needs to step up and step out.

The USB Cord stuff was auto corrected...I'll fix the right word there.

Yeah.

Okay. Seen. 👍

I had an interesting read. Just like our dear Man Of God (as you know) usually say "Don't follow stereotypes." He has practically prepared us for these days.
How can a system that needs your help, help you? How can a dotrt cloth wipe the stain off you? This is a wake up call to our brothers and sisters. Your future is now, seize it. Thanks for sharing my dear. 🤗
