Have you ever wonder what exactly it is about Christmas? Why is it that the thought of it alone brings about joy and creating this feeling of love in our heart? Why it is an event whereby people irrespective of their tribes, skin color, races and believes finds it easy and convenient to share things with one another in love and without ill feelings, which on a normal day it is hard doing that?
All these questions and more are what my mind was pondering🤔 about this morning while still laying on my bed and funny enough I was able to get my own answers to some of them! Maybe you should try it out too, who know? You might find more interesting answer than mine!😎
Let me quickly share few of the answer I got with you:
I came to realize that all those afore mention questions about Christmas are what Christmas is really all about in it real sense, Christmas is always a season of joy and happiness, it is a season of love and affection, a season of togetherness with our loved ones, a season of giving, sharing and extending arms to people around us, a season to show those who are dear to our heart how we feel about them🥰 and how happy we are to have them in our life.
It’s a season of pure exchange of love ❤️and care and Jesus is the reason for the season.
So how did I spend the Christmas?
Waking up to the tune of my phone ringing, guess who? It was mum, with her exciting voice she was like “ Helloooo! My baby, merry Christmas to you, and there you go it was a long list of prayers………..(that Africa mothers thing😒). So please make sure you cook and eat well today oh okay! EEYAH PELE OMO MI! (Yoruba ways of showing pity). 😅
THEN shortly after that, different series of calls came in from my siblings, friends and family at large, with different heartfelt wishes and prayers, it was a powerful one (smiling). But you know what; to be honest, though I acted tough and show them that I really don’t miss home but deep down in my heart, I really missed my family “that love, that togetherness, that sitting together in one big room, cracking jokes, laughing, reminiscing past memory and telling stories”. I so much missed that a lot.☹️
There after I dress up and move to church for a little Christmas get together organized by the pastorate and the executive of the church for student staying behind in school this season. It was a nice gathering full of eating, drinking, dancing💃🕺, snapping, talking and lot more…………. (Smiling). It was indeed a very nice experience and a Christmas to remember😎…………..
Coming back home, fully filled up and exhausted from all the activities, I went straight up for a cold shower and then take a nice nap 🛌 and the rest they say is a STORY. 😄
MORAL LESSON FOR TODAY: Learn to love and appreciate your family, your friends and your loved ones every opportunity you get, laugh, make jokes, dance, gist, eat, take pictures and create beautiful memories with them now when you still have time with them. Because who knows what tomorrow may bring and most importantly any opportunity gotten to make an impression on how you feel about them; please do! Because at the end those memory you share with them are what will linger on in their heart even when we are no more and when we look back in time we will realize that “it’s with them we had our best moments”
Merry Christmas Dami my dear. Welcome to hive... I love your write up girlie.
