Hi! Everyone hope I'm not too late for this week's topic.

Ok let me start!

When I brought home the list of secondary school choices I was given to select my dad selected the prestigious Loyola Jesuit College. Although I had another school in mind I was super excited I would be going to such a school, the one my father selected. Unfortunately when it was time to register things were not all that rossy for my dad. He had voluntary retired from service as a senior Mobil staff and was duped(of course I didn't know this then). He wasn't able to meet up the financial demand. Long story short I ended up enrolling in the new and first secondary school in my area.

This school was just coming up and I had set my standard so high. I sat for entrance and had the second highest score. I got admitted but I wasn't satisfied with the many things about the school. The laboratory was poorly equipped and this was one area that fascinated me about science. Going to the laboratory in primary school back then was fun, I loved it.

I had to come terms with the fact that they will be no lab practicals but we had the theory lessons well taught. Perhaps due to my crushed expectation I started complaining about almost everything the classroom, the teachers the lab etc. I didn't like my school but I didn't do my complaining in school rather I complained at home hoping they will change my school but my dad was adamant, insisting I was not changing school.

This attitude started showing up in my grade I was dropping grades fast. If my results were to be drawn as a graph the slope will look almost like an inclined plane. It took the intervention of my computer teacher who sat me down and talk some sense to me. I learnt a lot of things that day. Till date it was a meeting I can't forget. My attitude changed I started taking my studies more seriously. I started to appreciate the efforts of the school especially the dedication of the teaching staff. About what I thought was not done well in the school I took up a pen wrote a letter objectively pointing out things I thought needed the principals attention. The principals swift action that was most encouraging.

I didn't take first in class though but the rest of the story only got better. I had learnt an important lesson in life.
Looking back I am glad my teacher had sat me down for that talk.

Thanks for reading🙏
