Hello everyone,
In line with this week’s topic for Hive Open Mic Week 261, which is “Be Reborn,” I will be doing a cover of the song “No Longer a Slave” by Jonathan David and Melissa Helser.

This song aligns perfectly with the week’s theme, “Be Reborn,” because it proclaims one’s genuine repentance and spiritual rebirth, that is being born again. To be born again is to be spiritually reborn; it is a renewal of your spirit through the confession and acceptance that you now belong to Christ. The songwriter, in this piece, powerfully proclaims his identity in Christ (a child of God).

This happens to be one of the songs I truly enjoyed singing when I became born again. I love it because it feels like a public declaration of the new person I’ve become. For that reason, I’m deeply inspired by this song and always love singing it whenever I reflect on my rebirth in Christ.

I’ve been greatly blessed by this song, and I hope this cover blesses you too.
Thanks for listening, and stay blessed!
