This week's topic is probably one of the common grounds for music composition. Poetry tends also to be written on this topic. We are talking about "Broken Heart". Oh, boy, this brings back memories. I remember those times when I was borderline intense. It helps me crack a laugh from time to time. I had an obsession with intense poetry. Must of it was about unrequited love. It wasn't healthy to say the least.
Regardless, this was a topic that put a lot of choices in front of me. There's thousands of songs relating to a broken heart. In the end, I decided to go with this jewel. I have sang this as part of the choir and it is difficult. It doesn't matter the key. This song will make you sweat while singing. Of course, I couldn't help myself but try to make an instrumental version.
The song was composed by Roberto Cantoral. It was immortalized in the voice of Jose Jose. This arrangement was made by Jhery Paco. The version is mine. I didn't do a mandolin and cuatro cover because I loved the piano arrangement and decided to record over it. It is truly beautiful. I hope you find it entertaining. Hopefully, your heart isn't broken, but if it's the case, this song comes like a means of catharsis.
Enjoy!
Oh, you learned to play the piano? I will retire now form my pianist career ;D
Just kidding. What a passionate song, oh that happens when the heart is broken, everything seems full of pain and passion, questions, like the tune of this piece...
When I accompany another instrument or a singer, my part has to be a little bit softer, not so loud unless I have a solo part. So for me, it seemed a bit loud the piano part, compared with mandolin, but all good. I liked it, and your part was excellent! Good entry @bertrayo
See? That's why I'm no piano player 🤣 and I tried to go differently and give an emphasis on the piano part because that's the one that driving all the emotion of the piece. The soloist part goes on a very simple melody with some jumps of pitch. But that's my controversial reason 😋
