Hearing this song, I get the impression he really embodies the words, the melody, the rhythm, the accompaniment, and the divinity that exists beyond the song itself. I feel his kindness, and it helps me to feel kind. I feel his passion, and it helps me to be passionate. I feel his faith, and it helps me to be faithful. I feel his bravery, and it helps me to be brave.

English: Wow, always wow. I applaud this song carrier for his brilliance in bringing the songs of Silvio Rodríguez, an extraordinary Cuban poet and musician. This song is written in honor of Che Guevara—the legendary guerrilla warrior. Although I cannot fully grasp the meaning in the lyrics here, I know the genius of @davidcentenor well enough to listen past the words and appreciate the musical vibration that very much resonates. I love the way this music stretches my mind.

I really admire your bilingual speaking / singing ability. I aspire to be multilingual too. I'm a beginner to Spanish and Portuguese languages, making some progress. I crave the day when I can sing the songs of South America from the heart.

I'm proud of this brother for returning to Hive Open Mic. His musicianship keeps getting better and better, especially in the overall audio quality. Great singing too! It's a rock ballad of Malaysia, popular in Indonesia, and @rezasofyan carries it well.

English: Every time I witness this artist in action, his energy impresses me. This is one extremely talented musician. As always, his voice stands out as being a powerful force, and his strumming on the cuatro is full of style and grace.

English: I love the message in this song. For me it's a reminder of the finer things in life. Makes me think of companionship, and family, and the enjoyment of being with loved ones. I'm thankful to @jesuslnrs for introducing me to this music and message, covering this song in such a good way. I really enjoy this man's sound, as his talents are great and his smiling face warms my soul.

My entry this week is a song about freedom from fear and worry. I offer it as a time when my family life is transitioning in a way that feels like abandonment, leaving me with some emotional strains. This song is like medicine to me, soothing me, helping me to see the bigger picture, trusting this too shall pass. All is well.
Appreciation
Hive Open Mic showcases live music, appreciating Hive's gifted and talented musicians. I'm grateful to each of these artists for expressing themselves in a way that creates connection. I'm grateful for the listeners too, extending their gratitude through claps and finger snaps. To me, we all benefit through the camaraderie between musicians and music fans, sharing the sound vibration.
Inspiration
David Byrne and St. Vincent offer a co-creation called "I Am an Ape," presented on NPR Live Music in 2012. This performance reveals each artist's massive talents individually, while also showing the gigantic energy of their collaborative efforts. David Byrne serves as a lead vocalist here, with St. Vincent's beautiful harmony, plus her digital drumming. And then there's the baad, wow! Looks like 20 musicians on stage, blasting horns and all. Sounds like the soundtrack for a gorilla group's banana-eating contest.
Acknowledgements
I am grateful for the various ways this event stretches me as a music maker and a generous listener. I enjoy the surprises, discovering songs that inspire me. I get the impression we're all making progress, sharing our art with the world, making steady steps toward global harmony. And our unique way of honoring artists is centered around live music. How fun!
