Brings a smile. Thanks brother. Yes, I'm with you in holding great appreciation for The Neverending Story. I read the book to my children. The first part (episode 1) is excellent, and from there the story gets pretty far out, and feels pretty depressing at times. My favorite character, of course, is Atreyu. Maybe he's my favorite character ever written - I just related with him and wanted to be brave like him.
