Hi Hive Open Mic!
We are in week 130, with the theme Creativity and Freestyle. Maybe you have seen some of my other videos, but I wanted to share a little of what I like to do, which is what I like to call Electronic Soul Jazz. I mix electronic beats with six instruments and record it live with a looper. I control everything with a footpedal, and everything is improvised. I’m heavily influenced by soul and house music, as well as many others styles of music.
Let me give you the roadmap of what I am doing in this jam:
I start with a beat I made called Feijado, influenced by a trip to Brazil. I start playing bass until I find something that is funky enough to loop. I find a good groove, then record it with my footpedal.
I hop over to the keyboard and use a Fender Rhodes patch to lay down some jazzy chords.
Then I lay down a funky clavinet line. To complete it I add a lead line. I put a harmony at the end.
Then I go back to the bass to add the “guitar” part. I lay down two different parts that are in harmony with each other.
Then I bring in the flute. I’ve put a massive delay on the flute. I record a line with the flute.
Then I add an original beat called Dubstep, influenced by Dubstep.
I record a new flute line. Then I record a quick harmonica part. The delay is still present.
Then I add a rap to be repeated. “What? Coming on the scene, I’m not trying to be mean, I’m trying to be real.”
Then I get the saxophone. At first the sax floats over top of everything else. I improvise a solo over the beat I have created.
Then I add a repeated sax line to be looped.
Once this done I continue soloing over the loop, until the end.

Estamos en la semana 130, con el tema Creatividad y Freestyle. Tal vez hayas visto algunos de mis otros videos, pero quería compartir un poco de lo que me gusta hacer, que es lo que me gusta llamar Electronic Soul Jazz. Mezclo ritmos electrónicos con seis instrumentos y los grabo en vivo con un looper. Controlo todo con un pedal, y todo es improvisado. Estoy fuertemente influenciado por la música soul y house, así como por muchos otros estilos de música.
Déjame darte la hoja de ruta de lo que estoy haciendo en este atasco:
Comienzo con un beat que hice llamado Feijado, influenciado por un viaje a Brasil. Comienzo a tocar el bajo hasta que encuentro algo que es lo suficientemente original como para hacer un loop. Encuentro un buen ritmo, luego lo grabo con mi pedal.

Luego puse una línea funky de clavinet. Para completarlo, agrego una línea principal. Puse una armonía al final.
Luego vuelvo al bajo para agregar la parte de “guitarra”. Coloco dos partes diferentes que están en armonía entre sí.
Entonces traigo la flauta. He puesto un gran retraso en la flauta. Grabo una línea con la flauta.
Luego agrego un ritmo original llamado Dubstep, influenciado por Dubstep.
Recordé una nueva línea de flauta. Luego grabé una parte rápida de armónica. El retraso sigue presente.
Luego añado un rap para que se repita. "¿Qué? Entrando en escena, no estoy tratando de ser malo, estoy tratando de ser real".
Luego cojo el saxofón. Al principio, el saxo flota por encima de todo lo demás. Improviso justo sobre el ritmo que he creado.
Luego agrego una línea de saxofón repetida para que se reproduzca en bucle.
Una vez hecho esto, sigo haciendo solos en el bucle, hasta el final.
