Greetings #Hive friends, I'm here again for one more week of Open Mic. First of all, thank you for the support I received in my first entry to the platform, the receptivity and the spirits have been more than I expected.

This week the theme is "The Sea" and that is why I decided to interpret the original song "Sirenas" by Van Gogh's La Oreja included in his latest album entitled "A Whisper in the Storm"
What I like about this song, beyond the rhythm, the melody and its lyrics, is the historical background it has. And it is that La Oreja de Van Gogh through his songs reminds us of important moments in history.

HISTORIA

Saludos

*STORY

The song is about a mother who tells her daughter the story of the time when ETA, a terrorist group of Spanish-Basque origin, terrorized the streets of San Sebastián. All from a non-condemnatory point of view, but one of calm and reconciliation and always affirming that we must not forget the victims of ETA and its attacks.

I admit that at first I thought they were referring to Sirens, those fantastic beings that live in the sea and that for a reason, they were no longer in San Sebastián, but my surprise was great, when I found out that the reference to mermaids was due to the sirens of the ambulances and police patrols that thundered in that Spanish town every time an attack with victims took place.
For you Mermaids of Van Gogh's Ear, I hope you enjoy it and support my entry.
Greetings*
