Esta nueva semana, la semana # 119 ha tenido como tema la palabra Prejuicio.
Hay muchas cosas sobre las que hablar pero primero voy a la canción.
Mujer Contra Mujer es una canción a la que desde hace mucho le quiero hacer un cover porque me fascina como pieza musical , pero justo esta semana dió con el tema, así que llegó mi momento.
Esta canción, me parece, es el mejor exponente de los prejuicios que se hace la sociedad ante una relación homosexual. Llega un punto en el que la pareja de la que se habla esconde su relación ante la gente para no escuchar la opinión de los demás, que tal como lo dice la canción:
"Lo que opinen los demás está de más"
Normalmente la gente al ver una pareja homosexual se llenan de prejuicios para sí mismos. Pero en ocasiones no queda hasta ahí. En ocasiones son atacadas con "piedras" que pueden ser, desde prejuicios hirientes dichos directamente, hasta agresiones de cualquier tipo.
Estas "piedras" hacen una pared entre la sociedad y las personas que reciben el impacto. Es una pared que les sirve de alejamiento, de escudo, e incluso de arma ante situaciones extremas.
Los prejuicios que hacemos hacia cualquier ser humano con cualquier preferencia sexual, cualquier pensamiento distinto al de nosotros no son siempre tan inofensivos como "opiniones", como solemos creer.
El prejuicio no nos hace más hábiles, solo nos hace más distraídos de nosotros mismos y ocupados en los demás.
No permitamos que esos prejuicios se conviertan en paredes que nos separen de los demás, podríamos estarnos perdiendo de conocer gente realmente buena y perdiendo también la oportunidad de ser pacificadores.
No necesitamos más distancias, trabajemos por acortarlas y mejor tirar al suelo las piedras porque sencillamente queremos ser mejores individuos.

Mujer Contra Mujer is a song that I've been wanting to cover for a long time because it fascinates me as a piece of music, but just this week it hit the spot, so it's time for me.
This song, it seems to me, is the best example of the prejudices that society has against a homosexual relationship. There comes a point in which the couple that is being talked about hides their relationship in front of people to not listen to the opinion of others, that as the song says:
"What others think is superfluous."
Normally, when people see a homosexual couple, they are filled with prejudices for themselves. But sometimes it does not stop there. Sometimes they are attacked with "stones", which can be anything from hurtful prejudices said directly, to aggressions of any kind.
These "stones" make a wall between society and the people who receive the impact. It is a wall that serves as a distance, a shield, and even a weapon in extreme situations.
The prejudices we make towards any human being with any sexual preference, any thought different from ours are not always as harmless as "opinions", as we tend to believe.
Prejudice does not make us more skilled, it only makes us more distracted from ourselves and preoccupied with others.
Let's not allow those prejudices to become walls that separate us from others, we could be missing out on meeting really good people and also losing the opportunity to be peacemakers.
We don't need more distances, let's work to shorten them and better throw down the stones because we simply want to be better individuals.
