I grew up in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S., where there are vast forests of pine trees, and I appreciate the way they hold their colors in the wintertime when other plants shed their colors and fade to gray. "Evergreen" seems to be showing up in the mainstream lately, used as a synonym for enduring and long-lasting. Most popularly, I hear it often in the weddings that I film (I'm a wedding videographer) through the song "Thinking Out Loud" by Edward Sheeran.
