Hi there!
My name is Marelize and I am performing from the beautiful, but very hot Cape Town, South Africa.
I enjoy the creative process forcing you to think outside the box with the different themes every week.
Sometimes a song jumps to my mind immediately and other times (like this week) it takes me a while to find an appropriate song.
I love participating in the @HiveOpenMic Challenge.
I finally settled on Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield purely because I only remember the catch phrase "the rest is still unwritten" which to me explain this week's theme "opportunity" perfectly.
Once again I recorded the piano track first. I took it slow trying to create a ballad feel to the song. I know the piano part by itself sounds a bit boring but hang in there. When I play my violin part it will all make sense and come alive.
I just love playing duets with myself :)
