Greetings Hive Family! This week's theme is 'Amor de Familia'.

This song has John Mayer singing about a girl who 'puts the colour insider of his world'
He feels like she's still a mystery and he's done everything he can to make her happy but he starts to understand that it might not have to do with him. He later says that she 'saw him walking away and now she's left cleaning up the mess he made' referring to her past and the relationship she had with her father. And how it affects his relationship with her.

Even though this track made it as a hit song, it been criticised about the way he focuses only 'Daughters' and not 'Sons'. My interpretation is that he wrote the song in his point of view and how it affected his personal relationship. It applies to everyone in my opinion. The way parents look after their children, their habits and behaviour, words and actions affects the kids to a great extent and shape them to the adults they are going to be in the future.
And it highlights the importance of 'Love of Family' and their role in bringing up kids who are kind, empathetic and good to one another. Kids who are able to understand whats right and whats wrong and fight for a better world.

That being said, I'd wish to edit his chorus lyrics to -
'Fathers be good to your daughters and sons
Daughters and Sons will love like you do
Girls and boys become lovers and turn into Mothers and Fathers
So Mothers be good to your Sons and Daughters too'

Small disclaimers about the video, unfortunately my camera stopped recording the lead piano parts in the last 30 seconds and I didnt realize it till I was on the road editing this. Apologies. 🙏

If you do like it, please feel free to share it or leave comments.
Always looking to improve, get better and hear your thoughts.

So you play the guitar too? Always bringing a nice surprise to us 🙂
I am curious what part do you record the first, the guitar or piano chords and then the lead? Or what is the order? I have never done a recording like this, so any experience/advice from you is very welcome :)

Hahah, I do play some guitar. But it's just the basics though.
I think I know just enough to learn a song on my own. 😛
I usually record the piano chords first, just to map out the length and sections of the song.
Helps me figure what I can come up with or experiment with.
And then record the guitars and finally the leads. Not sure if that's the standard way of doing things but it's how I've been doing it 😄 Always experimenting.

Your basics are still a lot better then my guitar playing - which is nothing, as I don't play it at all. So just congratulations 👏

Thank you for explaining me the process. I imagined it would be the chords or guitar, and the lead the last one, but I was not sure.

It is good to experiment, and see how we can impove or change the things. Keep up with the good work, and don't forget to introduce the week and your hive username in the beginning 😇🙌
