Greetings everyone. Hive Open Mic is again encouraging musicians to produce with a theme that makes the headlines of "Automatic Guitar" this week. With the idea that this theme gave me, I wanted to sing a song composed for the Battle of Gallipoli.
The Battle of Gallipoli took place in 1915 during the First World War. The soldiers of the Allied Powers, who had landed in the Dardanelles, were aiming to cross the Dardanelles by land or sea, to take Istanbul and to deliver aid to the Russian Tsardom. During the war, which lasted about 9 months, 500,000 people from both sides lost their lives. The defense of the Turkish soldiers resulted in success, but the war inflicted many wounds on everyone and caused great suffering. These sufferings led to the emergence of many folk songs. The Çanakkale folk song that I perform today is one of these works. I wish that one day the wars will end and innocent people will not die.

Herkese selamlar. Hive Open Mic bu hafta yine "Otomatik Gitar" manşet atan bir tema ile müzisyenleri üretmeye teşvik ediyor. Ben de bu temanın bana verdiği fikir ile Çanakkale Savaşı için bestelenmiş bir türkü seslendirmek istedim.
Çanakkale Savaşı 1915 yılında Birinci Dünya Savaşı içerisinde meydana geldi. Çanakkale Boğazı'na çıkarma yapan İtilaf devletleri askerleri karadan veya denizden Çanakkale Boğazı'nı geçerek İstanbul'u almayı ve Rus Çarlığı'na yardım ulaştırmayı hedefliyorlardı. Yaklaşık 9 ay süren savaş boyunca her iki taraftan 500.000 insan hayatını kaybetti. Türk askerlerinin yaptığı savunma başarıyla sonuçlandı fakat savaş herkeste birçok yaralar açtı, büyük acılara sebep oldu. Bu acılar birçok türkünün ortaya çıkmasına sebep oldu. Bugün icra ettiğim Çanakkale türküsü de bu eserlerden birisidir. Dilerim birgün savaşlar bitsin, masum insanlar ölmesin.
