Hello everyone! We are BACK with another Hive Open Mic!
First of all... as you've seen from my introduction, I have been pretty sick this week! I have the flu, but it's all good I can still play guitar! Looking forward to this clearing up :)
Right, back to the music! This week it is another Guns N Roses cover from me :) now I know you ALL know this song! Arguably the most well known guitar solo? I would say this along with Stairway to Heaven and possibly Bohemian Rhapsody are the 3 most well known solos of all time? Anyway, it is a great one and Slash is a legend!
I hadn't played this song in a while but it came back to me pretty quicky! I used to play GNR songs all the time :) still love that band!
This weeks theme of 'A Better World For All' is a great, powerful and positive theme! It is the world we want to create, and the love that we all must share to all. First of all, something that we might struggle with is self love, so once we can look within and begin to be proud of who we are, we can then become more postive and grateful people and share the love to others :) in my opinion, the world is in a pretty strange place right now, BUT I know that 90% of the people here are great, amazing and loving people! Just the few at the top that mess with us all... they can go! My point is, we can make the change by realising our power :) so, I chose sweet child o mine simply as it is a song I love and it give me confidence to play - from the self confidence I feel that I can be a more caring and loving person to myself and everyone else :)
I hope you all enjoy rocking out to this one! Do you like the 'wah-wah' effect tht I put on my guitar for the second section? Just like Slash does haha! Well, almost like Slash does ;P

I love it when you make that beautiful Epiphone scream, it's EPIC and certainly, those songs are the most famous in terms of solos and I think we could include Metallica with Nothing Else Matters also in that list and well there are others but I think these are the most legendary without a doubt 🙌😀💛!!!!!

That was nuts man ...I been seeing alot of classic metal solos pop up in my Facebook feed since Stranger Things had that epic Master Of Puppets scene...
I can see myself finally going electric pretty soon , Ive had my trusty Takamine G series for 8 years now and never really had much interest in electric guitar but that's starting to change.
You pretty much played this note for note perfect it was wild to witness this...it deserves a good bit more than its earned so far , easily one of the coolest music related posts I have seen in the 2 years I have been here on Hive.

Yea dude that was an epic scene in stranger things when Eddie plays master of puppets! Loved that! Yea man you should give the electric a go! It's great fun! I'm thinking of getting a nicer acoustic soon, I still use my $40 one I've had for years since working in China and travelling haha - it's not great but it sure has been to a few places with me and survived!
