Welcome to my entry for Hive Open Mic 139!

First of all, I sure hope you are all doing well and have some fun things planned for the weekend! The weather here in New Zealand is nice and warm, we are almost in summer! Late spring is here and it is warming up :)

What a great and versatile topic this is! Work of True Love! For me, music is my true love! It never fails to keep me occupied, cheer me up, keep me busy and ground me when I need it most! It is also always a work in progress and the connection can always grow and strengthen :)

I decided to put together a passionate guitar solo as a tribute to my guitar, or to music in general. I find I can deliver my emotions through my playing, which is why most of the time I just have my eyes closed and I am practially in deep meditation!

So I start of slowly, following the chords and putting in a few extra licks. I try to keep things simple and tasteful for the first part (and not shred too much!)

This song is in B minor, a key I quite like to play in :)

I also use some octave slides to create some form of melody without getting carried away.

The 'heavier' section kicks in after I start to build things up with some blues rock licks. From here, I like to drive up the fretboard, and put a little more power into the notes! Of course, there are always a few little mistakes and some bum notes but that's part of the live experience, for me anyway haha!

But yes, that section ending at 2:58 I can let rip a little more! Then, slow things right back down again :) until around 4:15 where I start a big tapping section - inspired by Eddie Van Halen!

Well, I sure hope you all enjoyed this one!

Peace and love to you all!

If there is something that defines you, it is your true love for the guitar, your interpretation is amazing and magical. I am delighted with the work you have done. When one loves what he does, even the difficult becomes simple and beautiful. As always a round of applause bro!

Thank you my bro!

Really great job man! My jaw dropped when you hit that shred around 2:40, love the passion flowing out of those fingertips!

Ah thank you so much man! Really appreciate this! Glad you enjoyed it :) and especially that you loved the shred! Cheers dude :)

My dear brother, what a pleasure to visit you, we had days without talking, I was absent 2 weeks due to health problems, I think it was covid (again) but I am better now, I still feel very weak but I am better!!!!

You are a master, even with those missed notes you look super cool 🤜🤛 because you have the mastery to walk the whole fretboard and make that guitar scream; I loved that I could see many techniques that I'm still studying, what left me most impressed was the tapping, that was too BRUTAL 🔥🔥🔥!!!!

I didn't want it to end hahaha... brother I see you are doing much better with your injury, that speed playing tells me so!!!!!

My Brother, if you can put in your post the link to the track, that would be great, unless you made it yourself, remember that is part of giving credit to its author and it is important that it appears in the post!!!!!

I send you a big hug, I enjoyed your participation very much; I thank you for joining us once again on the world stage of the Hive Open Mic, we wait for you next week... ¡You Rock! 🙌😀💛
