Hi everybody. Introducing myself, my name is Theophilus Sinaga and I come from Indonesia to be precise to the city of Medan. Today, the weekly #openmic has entered its 135th week with the theme Against Oppression. This theme was chosen by @indonesiabersatu, one of the coolest rock bands in the hive community. The Hive Open Mic weekly music event is very interesting to me because it provides challenges from each theme of the week.
In this week's theme, I performed a cover song entitled "Deputy of the People" by Iwan Fals. In my opinion, this song is suitable for this week's theme because this song is a message to all members of the DPR to see the problems that occur in the lives of their people. Providing ideas that can change the fate and problems that exist among the people. People's representatives should be able to populate the people, don't just be close to the people before being elected, but after being elected the people's representatives seem to have forgotten their promises to the people. All the people depend on the policies made by the representatives of the people who meet in the House of Representatives building. Do not say "yes agree" without knowing the impact of the policy on people's lives. Because the people hope for their elected representatives who make promises to prosper people's lives.
The lyrics in this song are to awaken the people's representatives who have not carried out their duties properly by their true functions and goals. Many people hope that the people's representatives voice what the people are worried about (not their business), without feeling afraid to express their opinion. On the other hand, they are also elected by the people, so they should have voiced and heard what the people are complaining about.
