Tema: El Alcaraván
Autor: Simón Díaz
La totuma en el corral
Y hasta el gallo carraspea
Cuando pasa un animal.
Allá en mi pueblo
Cuando pasa un alcaraván,
Se asustan las muchachas
Por el beso del morichal.
El perro de la casa
Se levanta y sale pa'llá,
Pa'llá, pa' ibera
Porque no le gusta pelear.
Que fuiste tú, que si yo,
Que no, que si tú,
Te vieron que llevabas
Cafecito al morichal,
Y que Pedro en los maizales
Tus espigas reventaba.
Y esa noche la luna
Se puso bonita, clarita,
Que hasta Pedro se asusta
Si pasa algún alcaraván.

A great and emotional greeting to all those who make life in this great Hive platform, especially to Open Mic. We are already in week 115 with the theme (Doing the Work). On this occasion I wanted to share a very popular Venezuelan song of our always remembered Simón Díaz, Uncle Simón, the song is called (El Alcaraván). This song tells us the story in the plains of Venezuela that when an Alcaraván passes by singing over a house, in that place there is a woman in a state. Once an Alcaraván was singing above a house where there were five very pretty young women, where the mother heard the animal singing and without wasting time she took them to the room and asked them which of them was pregnant. And there began the family discussion, that it was you, that it was me, that it was not me, that it was you, and near the door of the room was an old dog and seeing the situation and the commotion he stood up scared, because he does not like to fight. There was a young man in the village named Pedro who was the suspect of everything that was happening with those women, since one of the girls was taking coffee to the morichal, and even Pedro was scared when he passed by singing the Alcaraván. I hope you like it, it will be until next week if God allows it. Greetings

The parakeet in the conuco,
The totuma in the corral
And even the cock croaks
When an animal passes by.
Back in my village
When a scarecrow passes by,
The girls get scared
Because of the kiss of the morichal.
The dog of the house
Gets up and goes out there,
Pa'llá, pa' ibera
Because he doesn't like to fight.
That it was you, that it was me,
That it wasn't, that it was you,
They saw you carrying
Coffee to the morichal,
And that Pedro in the cornfields
Your ears of corn were bursting.
And that night the moon
It got so beautiful, so clear,
That even Pedro gets scared
If a stone-curlew passes by.
