Kemboja, Cambodia or boja (plumeria) is a plant group in the plumeria clan. It is a small tree with rare thick-set leaves. Its highly aromatic flowers, with a crown of white to crimson, usually five. Flowers with four or six petals of flowers by some societies are considered to have magical powers. The root fibers and the texture of the flowers are neither too coarse nor too smooth.
The plant comes from Central America. The name plumeria was given in honor of Charles plumier (1646-1706), French botanist. Though originating in distant places, the kemboja is now a very popular tree on the island of Bali because it is grown in almost every tree and corner of the village, and it performs an important function in the local culture. In some places in nusantara, including malaya, kemboja is grown in the cemetery as a hoarding plant anda bookmark. Kemboja can be reproduced easily, through a stick.
Plumeria is currently popular used as an outdoor houseplant originally used only as a graveyard plant.
