It was really fun meeting with the Jibowu branch today, and it happened to be our first meet-up for the year; in my previous report about the Jibowu branch, I explained the reason why we only meet on Sundays because they come from different parts of Lagos so we can only meet ourselves on a Sunday.
Firstly, in the morning, I went for my service for an hour, and 45mins after which I came back and had my bath, then got dressed for the Jibowu spendhbd meet-up.
I met with @kachy2022 who was waiting for me at the bus stop, we took the first bus to the first bus stop, and we now took a second bus that drove us down to Jibowu Bustop Then we walked down to @finicky restaurant, on getting there the Jibowu group were already waiting for us and we were so happy to meet with them the first time this year.
@finicky sells rep was very happy to see us once again; they have missed us. Unfortunately, they have increased their prices of foods and drinks, but they sell quality foods, and we were not satisfied with what they offered us today.
Mentorship.
They all have been inactive for a while now, so we discussed the challenges that made them stop; I also helped them to understand why it is good to pick a few communities and be consistent in engagement and creating quality content.
One of them complained that she doesn't get support, so on checking her page, it was obvious that she was creating quality content and she didn't engage enough; I explained the reasons why quality and original content are key to achieving success as a writer on the hive.
Our Lunch
Everyone bought food of their choice and paid with HBD and also claimed their discount; that is the joy of meeting together; when we meet, we can host ourselves with hbd and get a discount.
Onboarding 2 new users.
@analee09 Referred two of her friends and after taking my time to explain to them how to spend hbd works and other things they need to know about hive, they permitted me to onboard them
I will reach out to distriator admins to see if anything can be done about that.With the spendhbd signup link I onboarded them with the following usernames @unclegeo and @ifunaya123, they also bought food and paid with HBD and claimed a discount, unfortunately, @ifunaya123 couldn't claim her discount, the distriator app was down and she couldn't claim her discount, this left her sad because she was interested in getting cashback, I promised her such thing will not happen again.
It was really fun meeting with @analee09, @talktofaith, @debbieuzo, and @nekkypreal once again.

After taking pictures, we made plans for next Sunday. We will be shopping at @bokku-mart, or we will list a new shop around Jibowu where they can get groceries and other things they need at home.
I left @Finicky by 3:40 pm, and I got to Surulere by 5:pm; @sandrai was waiting for me at @chiefomart; she wanted to shop but didn't know how to go about it because it had been a long time since she shopped, I assisted her in shopping and claiming her discount from the distributor app.
After that, I went home, had my bath, and I am ready to have a pleasant night's rest.

Nice work ! Keeping people active is probably even more important than onboarding them in the first place.
For the one who is making good quality content but not getting support, I found that what worked for me was curating and making useful comments on the posts of other people in the same community, and following people who regularly post things I find interesting. If I see someone regularly upvoting my posts and commenting, I'll always go to see what they post, and if I like it I'll follow them. Likewise, if someone follows me I'll see what they post and follow them back if it's interesting. It's all about building a network (but you're amazingly good at that !)

Also, I hope everyone in the #SpendHBD community in Lagos are regularly upvoting each other's Distriator posts - it's like giving each other free money 😁 The more the accounts grow, the greater the vote value, but it's worth the smaller accounts co-operating to make sure that the total of upvotes on a post is worth over the $0.02 dust threshold.
