Today, we took the SpendHBD project to the streets with an exciting campaign. With the festive season building momentum, this initiative offers businesses and customers a great opportunity to enjoy the perks of using HBD as their means of payment. Alongside our bulk supply of SpendHBD fliers, @fokusnow also designed a large banner to attract more attention. This banner will be a key tool in creating awareness as we display it at various business locations.
With some of our team members present today—@ijebest, @bakinba, @ngobaby, and @bummblebee—we kicked off the campaign at God’s Own Supermarket. We proudly displayed the large banner right at the front entrance, where customers were streaming in with various shopping goals in mind. While some were in a rush, others took their time, giving us the opportunity to interact with them. We explained what the project is about and highlighted the benefits of shopping with HBD, especially the discounts. At the mention of these perks, several customers showed immediate interest—because who doesn’t love discounts?
One memorable interaction for me today was onboarding a new user, @mcviks, who came in to purchase skincare products. He overheard us discussing the project and got curious. I explained the process to him—how to download the Keychain app, sign up, and use it for seamless transactions. While he was able to download the app and create an account, he ran into some trouble adding his keys and setting up his wallet PIN. Each time he created a PIN, the app wouldn’t recognize it and prompted him to start over. Frustrated but determined, we switched to another device to assist him. This workaround worked perfectly, and he completed his first transaction of 10 HBD, enjoying a discount of 2 HBD. His excitement was second to none!
Being tech-savvy with some knowledge of crypto, @mcviks asked many questions about how the project operates and whether he could return to the store for more discounted shopping. I assured him that the project is here to stay, and he promised to return with his friends to sign up.
By the end of the day, we successfully onboarded six new users onto the platform, with each downloading the Keychain app onto their devices. As we move forward, our goal remains clear: to onboard as many people as possible and spread the word about this amazing project. It’s all about increasing awareness, educating more people, and pushing the SpendHBD initiative forward.
This campaign has been a rewarding experience so far. With every new user we onboard and every business that gets involved, the project gains the recognition it deserves. It’s truly a win-win for everyone.
