Signed up 4 new users and went shopping with them

The more we create awareness for this SpendHBD, the more we have many new people that are showing interest to join. Today, I invited one of my friends and she came along with another friend, making them two. At the same time, @bakinba also invited two of his friends and together, there were four new persons that I mentored. After mentorship, I helped them create Hive accounts using the SpendHBD sign up method. Then we went to shop, and the family keeps on growing.

Mentorship at my office

I gave the four new friends 10am to arrive at my office although they did come a little behind schedule. I explained how Hive as a platform is powering the next big thing which is spendHBD. The newbies understood how Hive is different from other social media platforms and how spendHBD is rewarding spenders.

The Hive tokens where explained and also important Hive Dapps like Ecency and Keychain. After a 45 minutes presentation, I helped the newbies sign up through spendhbd site. Then other friends around like @iamchimary and @bakinba assisted the newbies to learn how to set up their profile. We also helped them import their accounts into keychain. Then i demonstrated how to pay with HBD, allowing the newbies to scan a demo receipt i generated.

Next the newbies each bought some hbd which they would need to do their shopping. I also gave each newbie a branded bag which they will use to shop once we get to the supermarket. Before we left my office, we took some pictures with other old users that attended the presentation.

Shopping together at God's own supermarket

With the newbies, we had a total of 10 friends that went to God's own supermarket and shopped. We arrived at the supermarket after a short walk from my office. The attendant is always super welcoming. She was happy to see us.

I told the newbies to feel free and shop whatever they want. After each person had picked what they wanted, a QR code was generated which they scanned to pay. Then they claimed their discounts which was really easy to do. The newbies found it interesting and a fast was to actually pay.

After everyone had shopped, we took group photographs at the supermarket. We also came outside to take more pictures. I also did a video.

Moving forward for the newbies

I have scheduled another day in the week to continue mentorship of the newbies. Of course they will be preparing their introduction posts. They need to learn more about spendHBD and also explore other hive communities and opportunities. I have also added them to our whatsapp groups where they will become part of the ShoKiN team.

Our next ShoKiN event is also being planned with these newbies in mind. The community of friends we have built is helping everyone bond and grow together. We will be doing more activities together to ensure that spendhbd grows as a family and expands into other cities and states in Nigeria.
