I've had this crazy idea in my head for a while now but before I tell you about it, the most Important factor of executing a project is to seek it long term. For sure it must render value and at the same time create history, it must be something repairable instead of the opposite. however the Hive spend HBD project fits this description perfectly well.
When i saw the Hive 5 years anniversary post by @hiveio, believe me it has been an honor for me finding hive, I've Been in hive for 3 years now and I bet the words I am looking for to express my feelings about it are just out of this world.
I've been following the spend HBD project for a while now, not because I am interested in the items being purchased by Hivers but there is something that just captured my interest. First of all I really want to appreciate @starkerz for putting in the effort to make the Distriator Spend HBD project a success. It's a huge project but yet the team effort involved by @forkusnow and others with great minds opened up the hard shell.
With the Spend HBD project, HBD is serving as a legal tender just as fiat. Imagine making your daily expenditure from the money you got just by working in the comfort of anywhere.
Ok enough with the imagination, on second thought If only the Spend HBD project can be replicated in my city Warri.
Spend HBD To The Moon.
Sometime ago I saw @Luchy Spend HBD post and I asked her what it takes to join in on the project. Of course the response she gave was as simple as ABCD, but trust me it was difficult to execute. convincing someone is the hardest part in a business, let alone gaining their trust.
The main reason I love this project is,; it's easily accessible, which involves making a transaction just by pressing a few buttons on your phone, it's better than carrying large sum of money and exposing yourself to insecurity, due to the poor security all over the world this project solves the problem of getting bulk cash stolen or misplaced.
When luchy gave me the procedure on how to join in, I told my sister @bipolar95 about the project and of cause bipolar being bipolar made a crazy point, First of all i need to figure out if there are any Hivers In my city, because a project without a team won't go very far especially if it's handled by just one person. I wanted to prove her wrong so i walked around my city and made a survey, I went into various supermarkets in my locality and told them if they are interested to add Spend HBD to their paying list, i told them the benefits involve, the procedure and the relief it will give to the customer as well as the owner of the shop.
And just as bipolar predicted 100% of them doesn't have the knowledge of how to implement the payment into their line of business, when i offered to tutor them and set everything up for them, 95% doesn't trust the procedure, they probably think i want to use a website or app to hack into their system or phone and steal their personal details such as money or something else..
Honestly I don't blame them. Imagine someone you haven't seen before, you don't know from anywhere and without any recommendation just walk into the front door telling you about something that involves accessing your business, obviously it will take a lot of convincing to hit the nail straight in the head.
My Crazy Idea.
Maybe I've been thinking about Executing this project in my city the wrong way. Since my city lacks trust, why don't I start up the project in a line where I've already earned the trust of the business owners? Why don't I implement the project in my city in a different way?
Most of the posts I've seen written about the spend HBD project involve buying in supermarkets, but instead of me going into supermarkets and doing a lot of convincing, I'm gonna start with a barber salon and I'm gonna start with mine.
If only I can make it more juicy? Imagine HBD having its own POS machine, you can easily swap in your ATM card and perform any kind of transactions such as Withdraw, deposit, transfer and to check your current HBD balance.
The reason being that since its my line of business I've known quite a handful of barbers around town and in other cities like Asaba, aside from that I know a lot vendors selling Barbing materials and items both in retail and wholesale, the sweetest part is i've already gotten their trust and thus i might just skip the convincing part and jump right on implementing it into their various business.
For example when someone comes into my shop for a haircut, drawing a tattoo or dying their hair or beard. They are gonna have the option either to pay with cash, commercial bank transfer or HBD, well all three payment method is cool, the only difference is paying with HBD gives you automatic discount which makes it cooler
Now let's take the case of the vendor when someone comes in to buy wholesale hair dyes, clippers, combs, creams, towels , dryers etc. Instead of paying with bulk cash or transfer from their commercial bank app, they can also pay with HBD while having a discount. For me I don't think twice before paying with the HBD payment method
But on second thought the only obstacle to execute this is the answer to my question; "Is the Distraitor app designed to accept only vendors dealing with supermarket"?
Anyways Having the HBD in my city is also a way of introducing Hive to people who are interested to know what it's all about. When I tell a customer, a vendor, or a shopkeeper about Spend HBD and how it works, I'll be forced to also tell them about Hive, because without Hive there won't be the coin HBD. And if they go further and show much interest I might end up onboarding them.
In other words the Spend HBD project definitely serves as a form of onboarding more users into the Hive blockchain, it shows great possibilities of bringing New Hivers into Hive.

I think your idea is great, that's what it's all about, every hivers should do their part to involve more people.
Regarding your doubt, the Distriator application works for all people, as long as there is an exchange of a good or a service it is valid. There is no straitjacket on this, so don't worry about that.
On the other hand, I want to offer you the possibility to open as many Hive accounts as you need. Remember that I am the leader of the Hispapro Witness, and from that account we can create accounts with the tokens we own. You only have to give me the user name that the person or business premises wants to use and that's it, we open your account in Hive.

Girl, I'm so excited that you took interest in the project and did your best to get businesses on board, which of course didn't yield results. Despite the rejections you encountered, you still thought of a way to kickstart the spendhb campaign in your environment. Your resilience is what I love most, and starting from your own business is just the best way to go.
