My Introduction to Hive and SpendHBD - My First Experience in SpendHBD.

in SpendHBDlast month

Good morning friends, good afternoon and good evening.

In fact, good night.

Well, that depends on when you get to see this post 😃.

On a Saturday about 30 years ago this fellow opened his journey account on this terrestrial ball called earth.

I'm the first to open the door among the four sojourners that came as a result of the beautiful Union of a handsome young man and his beloved beautiful babe. So, you're free to call me Diọkpara (the term igbos use to describe the firstborn son).

Talking about what you can call me, permit me to say that my name is Offor Micheal Jahmerije. I'm called Onyedikachi too. Call me Miracle or the Igbo translation meaning Oluebeube, I'll answer.
Friends call me Bro Joy and like my paddy calls me, Jubbymike, you all gonna know me by that henceforth.

I started my journey from a small beautiful town in Isuochi called Mbala in Umunneochi LGA of Abia State.

I was not born with a silver spoon, even the wooden spoon I came with left me at the hospital but I made sure I came home with the cute woman who birthed me.
My early stage of life wasn't an easy one but I sure did learn contentment.

I survived on many menial jobs, hawking of sachet water or buns and egg roll, I pushed wheelbarrow. I served mason, transported bricks(5inches, 6 and 9) from ground to the 1st floor, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th. Oh, life in Onitsha was not bad after all, I learned survival!

Well, I didn't come alone to my parents. After I arrived, my handsome bro couldn't wait, he joined two years later (guy thought I was going to paradise, oya enjoy Nigeria with me bro 😅)

At this point, my mom realized her husband was leading her 2-0, she made a tactical change, boom, my sister came along. So pretty my parents couldn't handle it, they named her Gift(Onyinyechi). Well not just an ordinary gift, they added Precious.
“Wisdom” no go wound them abeg, they actually named it the second son 😅.

Seven years later after the birth of their daughter and only girl, they closed the portal with a handsome boy named Ugonna.

Well, my Dad is still leading 3:1.

Sometimes, you've to accept your defeat, mom realized that 😅.

EDUCATION.

"Are you a graduate?"
I've lost counts how many times people have asyk me that question.
I started my primary school, actually elementary as we would call it then at Ngodo Primary School after the teachers could ascertain that my right hand could touch my left ear over my head, a practice that kept many of our peers at home while some of us were either bundled to school for fear of cane or others run off without eating breakfast due to the joy of finally starting school.

In elementary 3, I moved to live with my Grandma. Then I changed to Umuaku Primary School, still in Isuochi. For the first time in my life, I came into the first three position at the end of my elementary 3 third term. The rest became a history. From 3rd position, I moved straight to 1st in the first term of my elementary 4.
I held that position as if it was my birth right till elementary 5 third term, they succeeded in knocking me off the first 3 positions. I had to manage 4th.

I learned little crafts like making basket from palm fronts thanks to the "handwork" assignments given to us which was even valued more then than the actual school fees (I guess the school fees was about ₦550 or so then).

When I turn 12, I had to move back to my parents who were then relocated to Onitsha. There I finished off my primary school at Premier Primary School Odume, Nkpor in Idemili North, Anambra State. The following year, I left again, this time as a maid. For the next three years I was away, I passed through my JSS classes and took my junior Waec before finally coming back home where I finished up my secondary school and learned my first craft.

So, NO, I'm not a graduate 😂.

WORK.

Besides making my own first money through menial jobs, my first craft was carpentry. As soon as I stopped schooling I became an apprentice in making furnitures. As hard as it was, mastering the use of saw, hammering my fingers here and there, enduring the burning heat from the "sandpaper" and other strenuous jobs required in this craft, I loved it. It was the first craft after my heart. Actually I made my own school locker and that of my brother even before I had any formal knowledge of carpentry.
I'll say it was in me.

After almost two years of learning, I had to quit as I was having frequent sickness unlike how I used to be.

About a year later, I went to learn tailoring and at this point I was living on my own because my parents moved back home, my sister had already left with my aunt and my brother with my uncle. I had only the little knowledge I had in carpentry to sustain me.

Since it was observed that it was either the chemicals or the strong smell of new woods that was disturbing me, I avoided them while doing small jobs not involving chemicals to survive.

Two years later, I was done with learning, I worked few months for my boss, then I left. On January 2021, I left Onitsha after 14years. In 2022, I moved in to Aba where I've been working to grow my brand in fashion designing. And also I deal on fabrics.

HOBBY.

Sometimes I wonder the kind specie of human that I'm 😅.
I don't enjoy anything in particular until I pick interest, then lose it.

But one thing has been consistent for years; writing on social media space, preferably Facebook.
Well, I guess that's my hobby. While others come and go, this has remained from as far back as 2011.

HOW I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT HIVE.

A friend on my list on Facebook once introduced me to Hive (he's probably reading this now). He loved my Facebook write-ups so much and was like "do you know you can do this and earn from it?"

As skeptical as I was , I picked interest after much persuasion but something came up on a day we agreed to meet, the appointment was moved, I lost interest.
As I observed, he too gave up persuading me and that was it.
Some time later, another fellow talked to me again about earning from my writings. It sounded exactly like what I've heard earlier and so I never paid any interest. I waved it off.

Just last week a very close friend of mine who I trust told me she has something to share. She's @ugoglory. Everything she told me matched what the first person told me and as we moved into the discussion, I found it was the same person that introduced her to Hive. At that point I regretted everything. WHY DIDN'T I START LONG AGO?
Well, I'm here now finally. Let's Hive!

I must say thank you to @ugoglory for being such a good friend otherwise I'm a hard fellow to convince. Thanks to Hive for this awesome community. It's personal for me because it resonates with my entire personality. I'm a fellow who loves to express myself, my thoughts in written words. Meet me in person, you would think I don't talk and you would be surprised when you see my writings. Hive gives the platform that suits my personality and I'm here to make awesome friends too.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH HIVE FRIENDS AND WITH SPENDHBD

I had the privilege of being explained to in details all that Hive entails.

I was so eager to experience what it feels like to shop with SPENDHBD and I must say that my expectations were met beyond my imaginations.

It was so unbelievable to know I could actually buy with Hive Backed Dollars (HBD and then get a discount from @distriator.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPECT TO SEE ON MY WRITE UPS.

I'll be writing on matters involving personal growth, sharing my personal day to day experiences. I'll also write on tips and hacks related to fashion, relationships and marriages though I'm single to stupor.

Once again, a big thank you to Hive, @SpendHBD and @distriator for this lovely community and thank you too to @ugoglory.

Let's have fun!
Let's Hive!
